Reading of the minutes of theprevious meeting was upon motion dispensed with and minutes were approvedcia.s printed. The following resolution was presented IlBe it resolved. by the Board of Supervisors of Bayfield County, Wisconsin, that an additional sum of one thousand dollars pear ca.nr.um be allowed and paid the clerk of circuit court in equal monthly enstallments, besides the fees provided for by Section 747, Revised Statutes of Wisconsin for 1898, except- ing fees in all Criminal .and civil actions wherein Eayfield County might be held liable for payment under said section 747. Bogenrief, Frank Robillard - 8. The following report was presented and was upon motion accepted and ordered placed on file. TO THE HONOR)ME BOARD OF .SUPERVISORS, Bayfield County, 'Uisconsin. Your special committee appointed to look after the building of the bridges and approaches on that pert of the prospective State Highway System known as the "gong Bridge" road, beg leave to submit the following; report: Since our last report advising that contract had been let for the con- struction of the 'two steel bridges on this road your Committee received two bids for the work of building; the approaches to these, bridges and filling in that part of the road as called for in the specifications and plans submitted by the engineer who laid out this road. One bid was received from George Wilkinson of Ashland, Wis.; his price for this .cork being $11,685.00. The second bid was received from Eben Olson of Port Wing, 7is., whose pride -was $7,000.00. Your Com r:itt©e, after f figuring- on all. the details connected with this work, reached the conclusion that $7,000.00 wLs not an unreasonable price -and therefore made contract with Eben Olsoii for this work with the understand ing that satisfactory bond for the full amount of the contract was to be fur- nished by Olson, said bond to be furnished riithin twenty days from the date Special Session, January 17th, 1914. of signing of the contract. Mr. Olson has furnished bond .for $7,000.00 issued by the IMassachusetts Bonding Co,. and which has been passed upon by the District, Attorney who prono Mcas 'it satisfactory in every way. The contract :with dr. Olson: calls for the completion of this work by June lst, 1914. All of ahich is respectfully submitted. 11. _Werden� ----_� SPECIAL COI:'�ITTEE. ._ ) _Pat The following Corr-munieation was presented: CONVENTION CALL The subscribers hereby call a convention of representatives of executive and commercial interests of the Counties of No-rthern Wisconsin at a critical t-.me in the History of our State fair to meet at the County Court house ih the City of Antigo at 1 P. M., Thursday, January 29, 1914, to consider and take action on thel f o I o.ing matters, to --wit: To consider the importance of terminating; forever the question of a change in( - the location pf the ,tate fair by securing legislation that will place it per- manently at Milwaukee, the r,7etropolis of our state; To recomr,end to the State Board of Agriculture the fixing of a date for hold- ing this fair lute enough in September to give the counties in the Northern part of the State a. chance to exhibit fully matured products in accordance with the provisions of the act creating the state Board and to arrange for representation at the meetinV of the State !:',card at Madison the f i rot Tuesday, of February; To take concerted action for better representation in exhibits, in attendance and in support of the State 'Fair. The expense of such dales^tes to be pr,•.id by Bayfield County. MLotion carried. Chairman aprointed S uperv•isors George A. Curry, Uo'n ld S. Bell and Frick Johnson. Mayor Peavey was given permission to discuss the question of the ap,�ointment of a County Agricultural Representative.
