fishing a phamphlet, the cost of gathering the necessary data and the cost of die-
tribution., we found that, although we had obtained pledges from various parties
interested in the work, about three hundred dollars in addition to the appropria-
, ti . on - of four- hundred dollars made by the Board for the work, the funds we had in
sight were inadequate, Estimates for printing 10,000 copies of a phamphlet of
100 pages, 4 x 9 inches varied from$600.00 to $800.00. The cost of gathering
data would amount to from $100.00 to $150.00 and the cost of distribution would
not be less than $100.00 to $150,00.
Your Committee therefore ask that the plan be dropped and the amaubt of
the appropriation not expanded by the Committee be converted into the general
funds of the County.

To The Honorable Board of Supervisors,
Bay -field County.
Your Special Committee appointed to look after the building of what .is
known as the "Long Bridge" road beg leave to submit the following report,
At our request, Mr. C. H. Wet den, a former member o* the board and this
special committee, met with us; and together with Mr. F. M. Sergeant, Assistant
State Highway Engineer, representing the Wisconsin State Highway Commission,we
C)
made final inspection of the work done on this hihveay by Eben Olson under his
contracts as made with the formes® committee.
In a general way we found the work satisfactory, and the road is now.com-
pleted with the exception of the top surfacing, which was not provided for in the
contracts, as it was doomed best to lot the road bed settle before putting on
the top dressing.
In -checking up the work done by Eben Olson under his contracts we 4ftnd
a small portion not quite up to the specifications as called for in the contracts;
Special Session August, 17th, 1915.
and in our settlement with him,, as iapptoved by the Assistant State Highway
Engineer, we made deductions amounting to $185.56.
The total cost of the building of this ULong Bridge" road ia as follows:
Hennepin Bridge Co. 2- Steel Bridges $8.,560.00
Bridge
Eben Olson -i,.Original Contract 7.0 000,00
a)
Eben Olson -r Subsequent Contracts
Less Deductions 185.56
Total Cost, $2010753,32
The road is now !pen and in general use, and any. further work that may become
necessary will have to be done by the C&unty Road commissioner, the same as any
other work on the system of prospeative State highways.
