minutes of the annual meeting held in November, 11947. Lotion carrieda
Moved by Evanson. and seconded by 1_acRae to dispense with the rules and to vote
by acclamation for chairman of -the County board, and that the county clerk cast
a unanimous ballot: for I.r. Meyer as chairman. The question was presented to the
board for a vote by vice-chairman, ilacRae. Lotion carried.
The county clerk cast a ballot as directed. Meyer was declared elected.
Motion was duly made and seconded to dispense with the rules and vote by
acclamation for vice-chaiiman, and that the county clerk by instructed to cast
a unanimous ballot for J.L. ivacRae as vice-chairman. Motion carried.
The county clerk cast the ballot as directed and J.L. I'acRae was declared elected;

t=REAS, the rising cost of living makes it necessary t.o again make an upward
adjustment in the scale of compensation of the county employees;
BE IT :IF,SOLSTED that the following rates of pompensation be set for appointive
and clerical employees of the county officers and of the Court House, excepting the
Highway Department whiah has adopted a separate scale of compensation:
1. Glerical and stenographic: the minimum or starting salary shall be .110.00
per month with an automatic '5.00 raise per month at the end of a three months proba-
tionary period and raises of $5.00 per month at the end of each six months period
thereaf#er, provided such raise is approved by the officer in charge, until t?he
maximum monthly salary of �160.00 per month shall have been reached, the current
effective wage for -each ei;ployee to be determined by the above scale and s ccording
to the length of time each of said employees has now been in the founty service:
Credit for previous services to be determined by head of department doing the hiring.

BE IT HEREBY RESOLED, that the District Attorney of Bayfield County be instructed
to quiet title on the above mentioned property.

9r, n the Town of Bayfield, and
WiEREAS, the Town of Bayfield desires to acquire some of this land;: `and
UHEREAS, the excess delinquent tax account of the Town of Bayfield is very large;
THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Odunty Clerk be authorized and directed
to issue a quit claim deed to the Town of Bayfield Hovering the following lands and that
the consideration be the amount of tax plus interest to date of taking the tax deed which
is known as the redemption date and that the total of same amounting to '1,213.42 be
charged off from the excess tax delinquent account of the County records.

years and has not -)aid taxes on the same property. He is an elderly man and I do
not.know of his whereabouts but from all- indications he seems unconcerned about it.

redeem it for whatever it is worth. I would not like to see it go to any ousider.
