Houghland Subject: Petition for zoning reclassification I petition you to change the zoning classification of my property listed below from the Forestry District to the Recreation district. Town of Bayfield County of Bayf ield Township No: 51 N., Range No. 5 West, of the 4th Meridian Lot 1 Section 9 Lot 2 +t tr SE NE 40 acres tt tt SW ST 40 acres Section 3 SE SW 40 acres it it- L,ot' 1 Section 4 Lot 1 n 8 Lot 2 tt 8 SE SE 40 acres rr 8 My reasons for justifying reclassification are presented below; This property was inherited from my father Albert C. Houghland who died Jan. 17, 1952. My permanent residence in New York is too far away for me to use or to look after the property properly, - especially since I have been and: will likely again be in foreign service. Therefor it is advisable to sell the property. It is located along the shore and its -chief -value, is for summer cottages, simmer camps, or summer resorts. Whoever buys the property for the purpose of developing a summer resort will reasonably exp ect.that he may establish Legal residence in order to protect his interests. This, can not be done in the present Forestry District zone; This classification is therefore an -unreasonable hardship and handicap in the sale of my property for recreational purposes', in consequence of which it is petitioned that the zoning be reclassified to the Recreation District which will permit legal residence. Glen S. Houghland moved by MacRae and seconded by Tribovich to,refer the foregoing communication to the Zoning & Forestry Committee. Carried. The following resolution was read: WHEREAS, The County has acquired by tax deed titleto the SE quarter of the NE quarter of Section 2, Township 49 North, Range 8 West, and n 6 WHEREAS, there is an inquiry for a sales. price on this. property from the owner of the land adjoining this forty on the north side, and TjMREAS, the Sales Committee cannot sell this land at the present time because it is crossed by a creek, therefore BE IT"HEREBY"RESOLVED, that the Sales Committee be permitted to sell this land as it will make a stronger economic farm unit. Harry C: Anderson Moved by H. C. Anderson and seconded by MacRae to adopt the foregoing resolution. Carried. The f ollowing communication was read. - Mr. Ludwig Tranmal Bayfield County Clerk Washburn, Wisconsin Dear 1&. Tranmal; In my previous letter of May 13, inquiring about land, I neglected to explain our reason for acquiring more. At the moment we are urgently in need of space for garbage disposal and Mr. Mammoser had asked the assessor to look around for suitable places where we wouldntt need to build a road in order to have access; Mr. Barnes suggested we try to procure the SW` NW of Sec. 8-44-9 and the SW SW or SE -SIT of Sec. 25-45-9. If we file the petition for the forties would it be possible to go ahead and use them this summer, and assume that the petition would be granted at the Fall Board Meeting.
