Olsen. The following members answered roll call: Barnes, Burlager, Buck, Kliszcz, Beeksma, Podolan, Bernard E. Johnson, Heglund, Rostollan, Hoefling, Stuart, Erickson, Berweger, Herman Hanson, J. 0. Anderson, Elonen, Lupa, Evald Johnson, Bonk Tribovich, Frankie, Pajala, Moore, Ernest Nelson, LaPointe, Henry J.S. Hanson, Reiten, Malinoski, Hove, Holman, A. E. Swanson, Mahler, Olsen, - Total 33. The following communication was read: Chairman of County Board Washburn, Wisconsin Dear Sir: Due to the absence of the Town Chairman, Mr. W. C. Barningham, the Town Board has appointed Mr. A. 0,.-Milligan to take his place, Please seat him as the representative from the Town of Bayfield. Respectfully, Harvey L. The Town Board of Orienta agree that Lauri Helenius will serve in Carl Nelson's absence on the County Board. John Hoefling is not able to get away. Mr. Disalvo of the State Welfare Department spoke to the County Board and advis- ed them that the state law requires that a jailer be present at all times when a prisoner or prisoners are in the County Jail. The matter of option on Mineral Lease to the Bear Creek Mining Company was brought before the County Board for discussion. The instrument was not read in its entirety as'each member had been furnished a copy prior to the Board Meeting. Duane K. Ruth, District Attorney was present and.explained the important pro- visions in the proposed contract. Moved by LaPointe and seconded by Stuart to adjourn until 1:00 P.M. Motion Carried. Prior to the afternoon session the. Board members made an inspection of the County Rest Home. In - - - -- Mar ch--111-959- - - - - - - - --- - Meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. by Chairman, Clarence L. Olsen. Tribovich Anderson, Helenius,•Elonen, Lupa, Evald Johnson, Bonk,/ Frankie, Pajala, Moore,"Ernest Nelson, LaPointe, Wachsmuth; Henry J. S. Hanson,.Reiten, Malinoski, Hove, Holman, Lorenzen, A. E. Swanson,.Mahler, Olsen, - Total 37- The Chairman asked the members if they had any comments to make on the Rest Home. There being none, they'proceeded to give the. Option on an easement to Bear Creek Mining Company further study. After some discussion a motion was made by Tribovich and seconded by Pajala to refer the matter back to the Industrial Develop- ment Committee and District Attorney for further study with instructions to report back at the April meeting. Also that the Committee and District Attorney be authoriz- ed to engage additional legal counsel. Motion Carried. Moved by Malinoski and seconded by Beeksma that the Building Committee be authorized to paint the Rest Home. Motion Carried. Moved by Lupa and duly seconded that the Sheriff make a desirable schedule of working hours for his department and submit to his committee for consideration. Motion Carried. Moved by Reiten and seconded by Malinoski to accept Indian Agency Aid in exchange for County Nursing Services,to the Indians. Motion Carried. Moved by Pajala and seconded by J. 0. Anderson to go on record favoring legislation pertaining to water rights in support of mining operations. Motion Carried.
