Item 4: Sandstrom discussed the issue of the Business Park Road Access. Abeles-Allison noted
we should get confirmation from the Town regarding utilization of State Farm Road and
willingness to maintain the road as a Town road. Mark will send a letter.
Sandstrom noted the RFP should be issued soon. Abeles-Allison will get this out in March for a
return and review by the next meeting on April 5, 2017.
Sandstrom noted the potential to access TEA Funding with DOT for this project. Mark to follow
up with DOT.
Sandstrom will follow up with USDA for road funding assistance for the business park.
Item 5:
Reviewed options 1-3 provided by WisDOT. $50,000 is required for the turn lanes / bypass
lanes with $26,000 is required for State Farm Road Construction / intersection curb and gutter.
Options 1 and 3 were similar with a preference for #3 because of the improved perpendicular
tangent. Since construction is taking place in 2018 it is advisable to proceed now to lower costs
for mobilization and engineering.
Questions to the DOT would be can the county proceed with passing lane and turn lane
improvements without modifications to un-named road. Mark will inquire.
Scottie to speak with Ashland Ford on this matter.
The County could use the TEA grant for this as well if jobs were available.
Rondeau made the motion to recommend to the Exec Committee option 3 if the county were to
proceed with US 2 improvements, Carlson. Motion carried.
