Call to Order; The Bayfield County Ad Hoc Business Park Planning County was called to order at 1:34 p.m. A roll call was taken by Chair Cole Rabska, as follows, present: Cole Rabska from BCEDC, County Administrator-Mark Abeles-Allison, Preston Mikula, Mike BeBeau. Absent: Vice-Chair Leo Carlson, Marty Milanowski. Total: 4 present, 2 absent. A quorum was present to conduct business. Also present: Diane Berweger from Bayfield Electric; Clerk III–Allison Radke; Bob Lahti from Bayfield Electric. 2. Public Comment; Diane Berweger, from Bayfield Electric, thanked the Committee for the invitation. 3. Minutes from June 12th, 2019; A motion was made by BeBeau, Abeles-Allison to adopt the minutes of the June 12th, 2019 Bayfield County Ad-Hoc Business Park meeting. No edits or corrections. Motion carried. • Discussion and Possible Action regarding Business Park Sign; - The poles for the sign are in the ground. - KVTech got their state building approval. They are moving forward with the building process. - Interest in sign: Bayfield Foods- no. Superior Sauna- yes. KVTech- said later. - Heart Graphics gave quotes for banners that say “Commercial Lots Available” for a price of: 1 banner for $84. Lots Available signs came in at: 10 2-sided signs for $110. Motion by Abeles-Allison, Milanowski to purchase 2 banners and 10 signs for a total of approximately $300. Motion carried. 4. Discussion and Possible Action regarding: a) Marketing efforts, including press articles; 2 The press release was reviewed. A new press release was discussed. It was suggested to include a map with lots available market, easy highway access, no road restrictions. Year- round business. Tri-state area. b) Financing option contracts; Committee members generated ideas of available funding sources including Bayfield Electric, Wisconsin Economic Development Foundation, USDA, among others. c) Road-naming ceremony; Committee member Milanowski will inform further about the road progression. d) Ribbon cutting planning; KVTech is working towards breaking ground. e) Social media campaign; There are press releases to be communicated to local newspapers. It was encouraged to like and re-post on social media. 5. Updates/Ideas regarding Businesses to Contact and Recruitment; It was recommended to ask current businesses what kinds of businesses they would recommend coming into the area. There was a discussion regarding water, septic, and cost per acre. 6. Updates from members; None received. 7. Adjournment. The next meeting for the Business Park Committee will be: Wednesday August 14, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at the Bayfield County Business Park.
