Bayfield County Industrial Development Agency Meeting

Members Present: Jack Carlson, Brett Rondeau, Bill Kacvinsky, Scottie Sandstrom, Dan
Anderson, Rick Geisen
Members Absent: Otto Rusch

Meeting called to order at 3:30pm by William Kacvinsky.
Motion Rondeau, Anderson to approve minutes of the November 19, 2009 Industrial
Development meeting. Motion Carried.
Bylaws state that an annual meeting shall be held in May of each year, with officers being
elected at that time. It was noted that a meeting will be set for May in accordance with the
bylaws.
Corporation Counsel, Jack Carlson took over the meeting at this time to facilitate the election of
officers.
Motion Carlson, Rondeau to re-elect William Kacvinsky as Chairman, Brett Rondeau and Vice-
Chairman, Dan Anderson as Treasurer and Otto Rusch as Secretary. Motion Carried.
Kacvinsky lead the meeting at this time.
Carlson recommended that a Waiver of Notice be issued identifying this meeting as the regular
meeting and also as the annual meeting since the annual meeting was not held in May.
Current economic development projects were reviewed:
The Bayfield Business Incubator and Iron River Incubators continue to operate. Impact Seven is
currently slightly behind in their loan payments (approximately $2,400). There is $227,323
outstanding on the Bayfield Business Park project loan. Sandstrom reported that he has met
recently with Bayfield businesses and tribal leaders to discuss potential for business and housing
development in the lower area of the business park.
D-3 and White Winter Winery continue to occupy the Iron River Business Incubator. It is
believed that Norvado may also rent space for a retail office.
Abeles-Allison reported that Northern Lights Health Care is considering future expansion of
their facility. He also reported that Norvado is exploring the potential of working with towns
throughout the county to construct cell towers.
Sandstrom reported that a brewery will be moving in to the old bowling alley building in
Washburn.
Next meeting is set for May 10, 2012 at 3:30pm. Meeting adjourned at 3:50pm.
