Bayfield County Industrial Development Agency Meeting

Meeting Held Remotely through MSTeams
Members Present: Brett Rondeau, Cole Rabska, Scott Kluver, Marty Milanowski, Rick Geisen

Others Present: Mark Abeles-Allison, Bayfield County Administrator, Kristine Kavajecz, Jim
Landreth-Impact Seven, Attorney John Carlson,
Meeting called to order at 3:30pm by Chairman Rondeau
Minutes of the January 3, 2020 minutes: Motion Milanowski, Kluver to approve minutes of the
January 3, 2020 meeting. Motion Carried (4-0).
Public Comment: None Received
Geisen called in.
Industrial Development Loan Write Down: Abeles-Allison provided an update on the status of
World Class Manufacturing and reviewed the terms of the proposed agreement. Attorney
Carlson explained that the county would need to determine whether they feel the $60,000 write-
down is worth maintaining the business/jobs. Landreth shared that he believes the recoverable
value of the building would be somewhere between $350,000-$400,000, less the fees and closing
costs.
Motion, Milanowksi, Rabska to approve the loan write-down agreement resulting in a $60,115
portion for Bayfield County and recommend the agreement to the County Board for approval.
Discussion: The full write down is $288,600.03, Bayfield County’s share is 20.83%.
Motion Carried (5-0)
US 2, County Business Park Infrastructure Development Update: Abeles-Allison reported
that the Executive Committee recently approved applying for Economic Development Agency
Grant/Loan for infrastructure development at the Business Park. This is provided as a report to
the Industrial Development Agency in the event that a future business may decide to locate there
as a result of the infrastructure improvements.
