Bayfield County Executive Committee Meeting

Other Present, Mark Abeles-Allison, David Lee, Amelia Lindsey, Kris Kavajecz
Meeting called to order at 4:05pm by Chairman Rondeau.
A quorum was not present. No action was taken on minutes of previous meetings.
David Lee spoke to the committee regarding the Land Records Department. He reported that the
Property Lister and Tax Deed office will be relocated this week to the office adjoining the Land
Records office. Lee provided suggestions for potential considerations in the Land Records
Department and reasons why he felt the Department should remain independent of other
departments. Suggestions included potentially requiring Auto Cad and Parcel Map skills, and/or
Surveyor abilities.
The discussion regarding the creation of a new position in the District Attorney’s office will be
discussed at a future meeting.
Discussion was held regarding the request from the Cable Chamber for placement of an
informational sign on county property south of Cable. Rondeau and Abeles-Allison will visit the
potential site for the sign and report to the committee at the next meeting regarding their
recommendation.
Bid modifications for the Annex Basement Project were reviewed. Handouts from the contactor
were distributed outlining add-one and deduct proposals.
Amelia Lindsey reviewed the Smoke-free campus policy that has been drafted and asked for
feedback from the committee. The policy will go into effect on July 1, 2007. The policy will
include a map of the “campus” to identify smoke-free areas.
Abeles-Allison reviewed his plan to provide information received from multiple sources related
to the vacancies that will be created in the Land Records and Tourism offices. Committee
requested information on contract with BayShore CAD.
Abeles-Allison explained a budget amendment where funds will be moved from the Squad Car
Fund to the Capital Improvement fund for mobile data related purchases. A budget amendment
transferring funds from the Contingency Fund to the Home Health Fund to cover wages if
necessary at the end of the year.
Abeles-Allison reported that bids for lawn care were received. Other reports will be presented
at a future meeting.
