Bayfield County Executive Committee Meeting
5:00 PM, January 17, 2008
Emergency Operations Center, Washburn, WI
Members Present: Dee Kittleson, Kenneth Jardine, John Blahnik, Brett Rondeau
Excused: Thomas Gordon, Bill Kacvinsky
Others Present: Mark Abeles-Allison-County Administrator; Kris Kavajecz-Confidential
Secretary, Shawn Miller, David Good
Meeting called to order at 5:05pm by Chairman Rondeau.
Minutes of December 11, 2007: Motion Jardine, Kittleson to approve. Motion Carried.
Minutes of November 13, 2007: Motion Blahnik, Kittleson to approve. Motion Carried.
Ag Station Land Use Plan: Abeles-Allison provided a handout of draft Land Use Plans for Ag
Station Properties. The proposed plan was reviewed.
Travel/Expense/Per Diem Policy Review: Handouts were provided of the current policy in the
Personnel Policies & Procedures Manual as well as the General Policies & Procedures manual.
Suggestion was made that a higher per diem or stipend should be paid for out-of-town
conferences. Other counties will be contacted to compare policies.
Report from Bayfield County Economic Development Corporation: Rick Geisen and Marian
Vaughn were present to provide an annual report of BCEDC activities and plans for 2008.
Handouts were provided.
Kavajecz exited the meeting at 6:00 pm. Abeles-Allison assumed minute-taking.
Geisen & Vaughn exited the meeting at this time.
Reports:
Reports included in the packet were reviewed including: Financial report from county treasurer,
Courtroom Project expenses to date, 2007 Year-End Financial Projection. Various line items
were discussed.
Lengthy discussion was held regarding BCEDC annual report.
Motion Kittleson, Jardine to adjourn. Motion Carried.
Meeting adjourned at 6:35pm.
