HomeMy WebLinkAboutExecutive Committee - Minutes - 9/11/2008Minutes of the Bayfield County Executive Committee Meeting 4:00 PM, September 11, 2008 Emergency Operations Center, Washburn, WI Members Present: Kenneth Jardine, Brett Rondeau, Bill Kacvinsky (5:00pm), David Good, Marco Bichanich, Dee Kittleson Others Present: Mark Abeles-Allison-County Administrator; Kris Kavajecz-Confidential Secretary, Jim Beeksma, Jim Crandall, Tom Gordon, Meeting called to order at 4:00 pm by Rondeau. Minutes of August 14, 2008 Meeting: Motion Jardine, Bichanich to approve. Motion Carried. Dog License Fees: Review of fees established in other counties above the statutory for dog licenses. This topic to be discussed further in the future. Wisconsin Energy Independent Community Expression of Support: Abeles-Allison explained that Governor Doyle has established a Department of Energy Independence at the state level. They have requested a voluntary resolution of support for energy independence. This topic to be discussed further when more information is available. 2009 Draft Budget: Draft budget for 2009 was distributed to members in attendance. Abeles- Allison reviewed the introduction letter and summarized the draft budget. Mill and Levy histories were reviewed and a Fund by Fund overview was provided. Human Services, Highway and Forestry will be asked to attend the budget review meeting on September 15th. Committee discussed changing to meeting time on September 25th to 2:00 to avoid conflict with the Human Services Board Meeting. Reports: Abeles-Allison provided an update on current and future projects. HVAC is 95% complete. Solar project is operational, Courtroom project is 99% complete with minor punch list items remaining. Bayfield County is the lead county on the Pictometry project, partnering with 3 other counties. Currently reviewing options for the ADRC location. 2008 YTD financials reviewed. Abeles-Allison reported there are several personnel related issues ongoing. Working with Personnel Committee and Department Heads on these issues. Attorneys for the Johnson’s have provided a brief to the Court regarding the trail lawsuit. Motion Bichanich, Kittleson to adjourn. Motion Carried. Meeting adjourned at 5:55 pm.
