HomeMy WebLinkAboutExecutive Committee - Minutes - 12/10/2009Minutes of the Bayfield County Executive Committee Meeting 4:00 PM, December 10, 2009 Emergency Operations Center (EOC), Annex Building, Washburn, WI Members Present: David Good, Brett Rondeau, William Kacvinsky, Dee Kittleson, Marco Bichanich Excused: Kenneth Jardine Others Present: Mark Abeles-Allison-County Administrator, Kristine Kavajecz, Amelia Lindsey-County Nurse, Daily Press Meeting called to order at 4:00 pm by Chairman Rondeau. Motion Kacvinsky, Bichanich to approve minutes of the November 12, 2009 meeting. Motion Carried. H1N1 Update: Amelia Lindsey provided an update on the status of H1N1 vaccine in Bayfield County. Vaccine is only be offered to those persons in the state identified target groups. It is anticipated that vaccinations will be available to all persons in the very near future. Lindsey answered questions about availability of Health Department staff to administer vaccinations upon request. Vaccinations administered by appointment currently. School clinics have been completed except Drummond. When the vaccinations are open to everyone it is anticipated that all clinics/pharmacies will coordinate clinics to alleviate congestion at the dispensing locations. Lindsey exited the meeting at this time. 2009 Budget: Reviewed Year-to-Date Revenue/Expense status. Various funds were reviewed. It appears the budget will be very close to projections. County Treasurer’s bank balances report was reviewed. Brief discussion tool place regarding the balance of the HRA funds. Budget Amendments: Abeles-Allison explained that budget amendments will be needed for bridge aid and the UW Extension Program Fund. Motion Good, Bichanich to approve budget amendments to bridge aid and the UW Extension Program Fund and to forward the amendments to the full County Board for approval. Roll Call Vote: All-Yes, Motion Carried. Quit Claim Fee Modification: A recommendation was made to increase the fee for quit claim deeds for the railroad grade from $50 to $70 since the fee has not been increased for 5 years. Motion Good, Kacvinsky to increase the fee for quit claim deeds related to the railroad grade from $50 to $70 effective January 1, 2010. Motion Carried. Industrial Development Agency Funding: Discussion was held at the Industrial Development Agency meeting regarding retaining county funding within the agency rather than having it return to the county general fund. The committee felt that there is already a revolving loan fund L:\COMMITTEES AND BOARDS\EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE\2009\Executive Committee Minutes 121009.doc Page 2 of 2 available and that the county is willing to step in as a last resort and there is no need to change the current process. Motion Kacvinsky, Bichanich to enter Executive Session Pursuant to Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1) (c, g, f) for discussion and possible action regarding legal advice related to litigation which the county is or anticipates being involved in and Considering financial, medical, social or personal histories or disciplinary data of specific persons, preliminary consideration of specific personnel problems or the investigation of charges against specific persons which, if discussed in public, would be likely to have a substantial adverse effect upon the reputation of any person referred to in such histories or data, or involved in such problems or investigations. The committee may also discuss and/or take action regarding employee compensation and benefits. Roll Call Vote: All- Yes , Motion Carried. Committee entered executive session at 4:37pm Motion Bichanich, Good to return to open session. Motion Carried. Returned to open session at 5:27pm. Motion Kacvinsky, Bichanich to adjourn. Motion Carried. Meeting adjourned at 5:27pm.
