Bayfield County Executive Committee Meeting
5:00 PM, January 31, 2012,
County Board Room, Bayfield County Courthouse, Washburn, WI
Members Present: Brett Rondeau, Kenneth Jardine, Beth Meyers, Dee Kittleson, Marco
Bichanich, William Kacvinsky (5:15)
Others Present: County Administrator Mark Abeles-Allison
Meeting called to order at 5:00pm by Chairman Rondeau
Motion Bichanich, Meyers to approve minutes of the January 12, 2012 meeting. Motion Carried.
Animal Damage Claim:
The Committee reviewed documents provided including:

Kacvinsky joined the meeting at 5:15
Abeles-Allison reviewed documents. General discussion included type of animal (dog, coyote,
or wolf), small size of prints found, specific terms and requirements of the statute, fencing,
witnesses, comments about dogs running at large, Rottweiler running at large noted by Town
Clerk, request to officer not to question neighbors about their dogs, and costs provided.
Motion by Jardine, Kittleson to recommend to the full county board that they deny the claim.
Meyers suggested the motion be amended to read that the matter be denied based on insufficient
evidence that a dog caused the damage. Jardine and Kittleson agreed to the amendment.
Motion carried (6-0).
Purchase of Ashland County Interest in the Ag Station: The Committee reviewed the
authorizing resolution for the Agricultural Station discussed and approved at the January 12th
Executive Committee meeting. Abeles-Allison noted that a budget amendment section had been
added to the resolution so the approval of the sale and budget modification could be made.
$175,000 would be paid out of county fund balance for this property.
Motion by Kittleson, Bichanich to approve the resolution as modified and forward it to the full
county board. Motion carried, 6-0.

Brief discussion was held on an Ag Station lease issue from the DOT for a portion of the
property by the bridge.
Item 5: The committee confirmed the next Executive Committee meeting at 2:30pm on Monday,
February 13.
