Rondeau Dear Committee Members: This letter is written to inform you of the Bayfield County Personnel Committee Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 3, 2002 at 4:00 p.m., in the County Board Room of the Bayfield County Courthouse, Washburn, Wisconsin. The agenda for this meeting is as follows: AGENDA 1. Call to Order; 2. Motion Regarding Minutes of January 10, 2002 Personnel Committee Meeting; 3. Review of Reclassification Procedure: Enclosed please find our reclassification procedure. I would like to review it at the meeting. At the meeting I would like to discuss the process. I have reviewed the new reclassification procedure with Human Services, they will submit their requests according to the new policy. 4. Assistant Zoning Administrator position. Revised Job Description. At the last meeting we agreed that the position description would be updated. Enclosed please find the current description and the revised one. 5. Review of Department Head Evaluation Process: Enclosed is the policy for evaluations. I would like to be involved in the evaluations for department heads. I would like input and ideas from the committee on this joint process. 6. Union Contract Modifications, WPPA, The Committee may go into executive session to discuss bargaining issues as allowed under 19.85(1)(e): Enclosed is a summary of the minor corrections proposed by the union. Paul Susienka and I, along with the Sheriff, met to discuss these in general. The major change involves the removal of the deputy 1 position to be replaced by the 4 least senior deputies. We have consulted with Kathy Prenn on this and she has no concerns. We also need to discuss the issue of civilian dispatchers mentioned at the end of the letter. 7. Staffing Levels: At the meeting we will have a listing of current staffing levels by department. The spreadsheet includes full, part, LTE and seasonal employees in addition to a column for plans. These might be departmental or committee plans. 8. The Personnel Committee may go in and out of Executive Session Pursuant to §19.85(1)(c ), Wisconsin Statutes for the Purpose of: a) Discussion and Possible Action Regarding the Proposed Job Description for the Working Foreman position in the Highway Department: Enclosed please find draft job descriptions for both the Working Foreman and the Equipment Operator position. As the two jobs will be combined we will work on combining them into one as well. The purpose of this position is to provide on site supervision and to improve the overall efficiency of the Highway Dept. The Highway Committee has reviewed the enclosed job description and recommended several modifications which are included here. b) Authorization for Hiring a Working Forman and associated financing. The Highway Committee would like to implement the posting of this position within the next 30 days. c) Discussion of Teamsters negotiation issues pertaining to Working Foreman position. Wages for this position will need to be negotiated through the Teamsters. 9.
