Bayfield County Personnel Committee
February 2, 2006 9:00 am
Bayfield County Board Room

Members Present: Neil Paulson, Dee Kittleson, David Good, Brett Rondeau, John Blahnik
Others Present: Mark Abeles-Allison, Kris Kavajecz, Sheriff Robert Follis, Chief Deputy Paul
Susienka
Meeting was called to order at 9:00am by Chairman Blahnik.
Motion Regarding Minutes of the January 3, 2006 Personnel Committee Meeting:
Motion by Good, second by Paulson to approve the minutes of the January 3, 2006 Personnel
Committee meeting as presented. Motion Carried.
Motion by Paulson, second by Rondeau to enter in and out of executive session pursuant to
Wisconsin Statutes §19.85(1)(c,e,g) for the purpose of Discussion and Possible Action
regarding: Strategy regarding collective bargaining unit contract negotiations, WPPA
Mediation regarding uniform policy, Employee Wages and benefits, Unit Clarification Appeal.
Sheriff Follis and Chief Deputy Susienka were invited to participate in the meeting. Roll Call
Vote: All-Yes, Motion Carried.
Motion by Rondeau, second by Good to return to open session. Roll Call Vote: All-Yes, Motion
Carried.
Abeles-Allison provided an update on the Worker’s comp claim in the Sheriff’s Department.
The employee will go through a fitness for duty exam to determine if he will be able to ever
return to his current law enforcement duties. This will not solve the Worker’s Compensation
issue, but will determine if the position can be filled.
Motion by Good, second by Rondeau to extend the unpaid leave of absence for Mike Peterson for
up to 30 days if needed. Motion Carried.
Motion by Rondeau, second by Good to adjourn. Motion carried.
The next meeting is scheduled for March 2nd prior to the County Board Meeting.
Motion by Kittleson, second by Good to adjourn. Motion Carried.
Meeting adjourned at 11:15am.
