Gehrke discussed different factors that affect the final amount such as cost-per-circulation. Frostman said that if in the past we’ve asked and received 100% funding we should ask for that in this budget. Frostman made a motion that we submit the Bayfield County Library Plan and ask for the 100% funding of $143,877. Motion carried. Gilles suggested that we look at other county plans to get ideas. Krause requested copies of the county plans in NWLS service area from Stoltenburg which she said she would provide. 7) NWLS Budget Request ▪ Stoltenburg passed out the Northern Waters Library Service budget request for Bayfield County of $35, 006 which is a 2% increase over 2003’s request. She went on to point out that 40% of Mail-A-Book use is from Bayfield County. Discussion of MAB program and options to provide service in other ways followed. Frostman made a motion to appropriate $35,006 for NWLS. Carried. Stoltenburg asked if it would be helpful to have a NWLS employee attend the Bayfield County Library Planning Commission meetings and it was thought that it would be helpful. 8) Krause asked about interest in running a weekly column in the County Journal. She will coordinate this if librarians will submit articles to her. 9) The next meeting is scheduled for September 23, 2003 at 1:00 at the Washburn Public Library. Meeting adjourned.
