Review Draft Aging Plan Goals 2022-2024
Tabled item until next meeting on September 20, 2021 due to lack of quorum
C. Linder shared that there was a lot of local data gathered to help draft the 2022-2024 Aging Plan
Goals; hard copies of surveys were sent out, an online version was made available on the Bayfield
County Website, committee members performed one on one interviews and 10 listening sessions
were held in local communities. Most of the concerns discussed included transportation, housing, and
nutrition. The goals cover caregiver support, health promotion and isolation, nutrition equity, and
transportation. Transportation has been a slow process, but thoughtful to what is important to connect
the rider and community. Health promotion and isolation has a lot to do with social isolation and
people feeling left out to being rural and COVID- 19 concerns. This will include a public outreach
campaign for the wellbeing of each other. Caregiver support goal connects caregivers with a variety
of resources. There is a shortage of paid caregivers in our area, and hard to find new workers so it is
important to look beyond traditional service delivery.
Committee Member Resignation and Committee Member Recruitment
Linder shared that Sam Ray from The Brick Food Shelf handed in her resignation as a committee
member due to leaving her position with the BRICK. She is working with the director at The Brick in
hopes to get the new hire onboard with replacing that agency position. The ADAC committee is down
four members, and we are in the need to recruitment. Hopeful to get Cable, Barnes, Iron River and
Washburn represented.
