Bayfield County Forestry and Parks Committee Meeting

The Bayfield County Forestry and Parks Committee will meet on Monday, February 12th at 6:00 p.m. in
the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), Bayfield County Annex Building, in Washburn, Wisconsin.
The agenda for this meeting is as follows:
1. Call to Order.
2. Public Comment – Limited to 3 minutes per person.
3. Approval of the January 15th Meeting Minutes.
4. Monthly Reports. Discussion of general activities, events, issues and accomplishments. Possible
action on report(s) only.
a) Forestry (all updates):
a. 2018 Budget.
b. New Position.
c. Red Cliff Land Acquisition (80 acres).
d. Stewardship Grant.
e. Oak Wilt.
b) Parks
c) Trails and Recreation (all updates):
a. Motorized Trails.
b. Non-Motorized Trails.
c. Yurts.

5. Land Acquisition Proposal: Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. Discussion and
possible action regarding a proposal from Red Cliff to purchase approximately 210 acres of
county forest land located along Blueberry Road in the Town of Russell.
6. Land Acquisition. Discussion and possible action regarding the purchase of 5 acres in the Town
of Barnes, utilizing funds from a recently awarded DNR ATV grant.
7. Recreational Use Request. Ashwabay Outdoor Education Foundation. Discussion and possible
action regarding a request to utilize trails located in the Town of Bayfield for a skijoring event.
The event would be held on March 4, 2018.
8. 2017 Accomplishment Report. Discussion and possible action regarding the report.
9. Joseph LeBouton, DNR Representative, Comments.
