The Bayfield County Forestry and Parks Committee will meet on Monday, April 9th at 6:00 p.m. in the
County Board Room of the Courthouse in Washburn, Wisconsin. The agenda for this meeting is as
follows:
1. Call to Order.
2. Public Comment – Limited to 3 minutes per person.
3. Approval of the March 12th Meeting Minutes.
4. Wildlife Opening Maintenance Request: Todd Naas, WDNR Wildlife Biologist. Discussion and
possible action regarding the annual request to maintain wildlife openings on county forest land.
5. Monthly Reports. Discussion of general activities, events, issues and accomplishments. Possible
action on report(s) only.
a) Forestry (all updates):
a. 2018 Budget.
b. Red Cliff Land Sale (80 acres).
c. Stewardship Grant.
d. Siskiwit River Preserve.
e. Emerald Ash Borer Quarantine.
f. Oak Wilt.

6. Spring Timber Sale Offering. Discussion and action regarding approval and offering for bids of
the 2018 spring timber sales.
7. Recreational Use Request. Seeley Lion’s Club. Discussion and possible action regarding a
request to utilize trails in the Town of Cable for the 24th annual Pre-Fat Mountain Bike Race. The
event would be held on August 18, 2018.
8. Recreational Use Request. Cable Area Resources in Emergencies (C.A.R.E.). Discussion and
possible action regarding a request to utilize trails in the Town of Cable for an annual 10k
running event. The event would be held on July 4, 2018.
9. Amendment to the Bayfield County Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan. Discussion and
possible action regarding an amendment to the 2015-2019 Outdoor Recreation Plan, to include
the Bayfield County Fairgrounds.
10. Recognizing Shawn Miller Upon His Retirement from the Bayfield County Board of Supervisors,
Including Eight Years as Chairman of the Forestry and Parks Committee.
11. Joseph LeBouton, DNR Representative, Comments.
