The Bayfield County Forestry and Parks Committee will meet on Monday, August 13th at 6:00 p.m. in the
County Board Room of the Courthouse in Washburn, Wisconsin. The agenda for this meeting is as
follows:
1. Call to Order.
2. Public Comment – Limited to 3 minutes per person.
3. Approval of the June 11th Meeting Minutes.
4. Monthly Reports. Discussion of general activities, events, issues and accomplishments. Possible
action on report(s) only.
a) Forestry (all updates):
a. 2018 Budget.
b. Stewardship Grant.
c. Hautop (Duck Lake) Appeal Decision.
d. DNR County Forest Time Standards.
b) Parks (update).
c) Trails and Recreation (all updates):
a. Motorized Trails.
b. Non-Motorized Trails.
c. Yurts.
d. Events.

5. Siskiwit River Preserve Project Update. Discussion and possible action regarding the initial
developments of the project, including short and long term goals and objectives, as well as a
future meeting with the Town of Bell.
6. 2019 Budget. Discussion and possible action regarding the draft 2019 Forestry and Parks
Department operating budget.
7. Recreational Use Agreement. Bayfield Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Bureau. Discussion
and possible action regarding a long term recreational use agreement with the Bayfield Chamber
for the maintenance of property and trails associated with the Apostle Islands Sled Dog Race.
8. Recreational Use Request. Ashwabay Outdoor Education Foundation. Discussion and possible
action regarding a request to host the Dirt Lip Mountain Bike Race. The event would take place
on September 29, 2018.
9. Breached Timber Sale Contracts: CJL Transfer. Discussion and possible action regarding two
breached timber sale contracts with CJL Transfer.
10. 2018 Storm Damage Report/Update. Discussion and possible action regarding damage to trails
and county infrastructure as a result of the June 2018 storm event.
11. Presentation: Mike Cariveau, CEO, Bayfield Wireless. Presentation regarding the use of county
land, located in the Town of Bayfield, for the construction of a communications tower.
Discussion and possible action regarding the presentation.
12. Resolution: County Forest Law Withdrawal Request. Discussion and possible action regarding
the withdrawal of approximately 2.71 acres of county forest land, from County Forest Law, for
the construction of a communications tower in the Town of Bayfield.
13. Access Permit Request. DRP.O Properties, LLC. Discussion and possible action regarding a
request to access property located in the Town of Clover.
14. Joseph LeBouton, DNR Representative, Comments.
