The Bayfield County Forestry and Parks Committee will meet on Monday, October 8th at 6:00 p.m. in the
County Board Room of the Courthouse in Washburn, Wisconsin. The agenda for this meeting is as
follows:
1. Call to Order.
2. Public Comment – Limited to 3 minutes per person.
3. Approval of the September 10th Meeting Minutes.
4. 2018 Bayfield County Campground and Parks Summary. Brenda Garrett. Discussion and
possible action regarding a report on the 2018 season at Twin Bear, Delta Lake and Big Rock
campgrounds and Atkins Lake park.
5. Monthly Reports. Discussion of general activities, events, issues and accomplishments. Possible
action on report(s) only.
a) Forestry (all updates):
a. 2018 Budget.
b. Stewardship Grant.
c. Oak Wilt.
b) Parks (update).
c) Trails and Recreation (all updates):
a. Motorized Trails.
b. Non-Motorized Trails.

6. Siskiwit River Preserve Project Update. Discussion and possible action regarding the initial
developments of the project, including short and long-term goals and objectives.
7. Fall Timber Sale Offering. Discussion and action regarding approval and offering for bids of the
2018 fall timber sales.
8. County Conservation Aid Grant. Discussion and possible action regarding the annual application
for the 50/50 cost share State grant.
9. 2019 Budget. Discussion regarding the 2019 Forestry and Parks Department operating budget.
10. Recreational Use Request. Iron River Area Chamber of Commerce. Discussion and possible
action regarding a request to host the Northern Pines Sled Dog Race in the Town of Hughes. The
event would take place on February 16, 2019.
11. Joseph LeBouton, DNR Representative, Comments.
