The Bayfield County Forestry and Parks Committee will meet on Monday, April 13th at 6:00 p.m.

The agenda for this meeting is as follows:
1. Call to Order.
2. Remote Meeting Procedure. Discussion and possible action.
3. Public Comment – Limited to 3 minutes per person.
4. Approval of the March 9th Meeting Minutes.
5. Spring Timber Sale Offering. Discussion and possible action regarding the approval and offering
for bids of the 2020 spring timber sales.

6. Land Acquisition. Discussion and possible action regarding the purchase of an approximately 30
acre parcel in the Town of Bayfield.
7. Monthly Reports. Discussion of general activities, events, issues and accomplishments. Possible
action on the report(s) only.
a) Forestry (all updates):
a. 2020 Budget.
b. Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Grant – Potential Project.
c. Jackman Lake Land Sale.
d. Carbon Offset/Marketing – Potential Project.
e. Spring Planting.
b) Parks (update).
c) Trails and Recreation (all updates):
a. Motorized Trails.
b. Non-Motorized Trails.
c. Yurts.
d. Events.
d) Delta Landfill (update).
8. Bayfield County Forest Comprehensive Land Use Plan Revision. Discussion and/or action on the
following items:
a. Draft Chapters 100-600. Review of new public comment. Discussion only.
b. Draft Chapters 700 and 900. Discussion and possible action.
9. COVID-19 Adjustments. Discussion and possible action regarding modifications to programs as
a result of COVID-19. The following items will be addressed as part of this action item:
a. Office Structure – Discussion Only.
b. Yurt Closure and/or Opening Date.
c. Campground Closure and/or Opening Date, including Boat Launches.
i. Seasonal Camping Partial Refunds and Cancellation Option.
d. Day Use Park Closure and/or Opening Dates.
e. Trail Closure and/or Opening Dates, both Motorized and Non-Motorized.
10. Consent Agenda: This item may be acted on all as one or individually. Discussion and
possible action on:
a. Recreational Use Request. Chequamegon Bay Birding and Nature Festival. Request to
utilize County lands as part of the Festival. The 14th annual Festival is scheduled to occur
May 14 - 16, 2020.
b. Wildlife Opening Maintenance Request: Todd Naas, WDNR Wildlife Biologist. Annual
request to maintain wildlife openings on county forest land.
c. Sand River Pit Storage. Request to temporarily store material (sand and gravel) at the
Sand River Pit located in the Town of Bayfield.
d. 2019 Accomplishment Report.
11. Recognizing Harold Maki Upon His Retirement from the Bayfield County Board of Supervisors,
Including Eight Years as a Member of the Forestry and Parks Committee.
