The Bayfield County Forestry and Parks Committee will meet on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.
in the County Board Room of the Courthouse in Washburn, Wisconsin. This meeting will be held in-
person, but a remote participation option is available. The public will be able to participate in the meeting
in-person or remotely via voice either by using the internet link or phone number below. A maximum of
15 members of the public will be allowed in-person. Please contact the Forestry and Parks Department at
715-373-6114 if you have access questions prior to the meeting. During the meeting, please email
Lindley.mattson@bayfieldcounty.wi.gov if you are experiencing issues connecting remotely.

The agenda for this meeting is as follows:
1. Call to Order.
2. Public Comment – Limited to 3 minutes per person.
3. Approval of the February 14th Meeting Minutes.
4. Management Plan for the Mt. Ashwabay Special Management Area (SMA). Discussion and
possible action regarding a long-term management for the Mt. Ashwabay SMA of the Bayfield
County Forest.
5. Monthly Reports. Discussion of general activities, events, issues and accomplishments. Possible
action on the report(s) only.

a. Carbon Project.
b. Red Cliff Land Sale (348 acres).
c. CFL Withdrawal – Red Cliff Land Sale (706 acres).

6. Recreational Use Request. Bellas Mentoring Inc. – Little Bellas Chequamegon Area. Discussion
and possible action regarding a request to host a Little Bellas mountain bike mentoring program
near Mt. Ashwabay in June and July, 2022.
7. Recreational Use Agreement. Cable Namakagon Historical Society, Inc. Discussion and
possible action on a potential long-term recreational use agreement with the Historical Society
regarding the old Frels school location in the Town of Cable.
8. Committee Members Discussion. Discussion regarding matters of the Forestry and Parks
Department.
9. Joseph LeBouton, DNR Representative, Comments.
