The Bayfield County Forestry and Parks Committee will meet on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. in
the County Board Room of the Courthouse in Washburn, Wisconsin. This meeting will be held in-
person.
The agenda for this meeting is as follows:
1. Call to Order.
2. Election of Forestry and Parks Committee Chairperson. Nominations, discussion and action
regarding this election.
3. Election of Forestry and Parks Committee Vice-Chairperson. Nominations, discussion and action
regarding this election.
4. Public Comment – Limited to 3 minutes per person.
5. Approval of the April 11th Meeting Minutes.
6. Monthly Reports. Discussion of general activities, events, issues and accomplishments. Possible
action on the report(s) only.
a) Forestry (all updates):
a. Carbon Project.
b. CFL Withdrawal – Red Cliff Land Sale (706 acres).
c. Burns/Duquette Trespass Land Sale (0.29 acres).
d. Stewardship Project(s).
e. Barnes Barrens Management Area Avian Monitoring Report.
f. DNR Audit.
b) Campgrounds and Day Use Parks (update).
c) Trails and Recreation (all updates):
a. Motorized Trails.
b. Non-Motorized Trails.
i. Siskiwit River Preserve projects.
ii. Lost Creek Falls projects.

d) Delta Landfill (update).
7. Spring Timber Sales. Discussion and action regarding the results of the 2022 spring timber sale
bid opening.
8. Timber Sale Contract Extensions. Discussion and possible action regarding setting the terms and
conditions for one-year extension requests on all timber sale contracts that will expire after May
31, 2022.
9. Land Use Request. Xcel Energy. Discussion and possible action regarding a request by Xcel
Energy to update existing utility easements and establish a temporary access route for powerline
maintenance and construction in the Towns of Bayview and Bayfield.
10. 2021 Accomplishment Report. Discussion and possible action regarding the report.
11. Recreational Use Request. Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association (CAMBA).
Discussion and possible action regarding a request to host the following events:
a. Chequamegon 100 mountain bike race in the Town of Cable on June 18, 2022.
b. Women’s Weekend mountain bike clinic at Mt. Ashwabay in the Towns of Bayview and
Bayfield on May 12-14, 2022.
12. Committee Members Discussion. Discussion regarding matters of the Forestry and Parks
Department.
13. Joseph LeBouton, DNR Representative, Comments.
