Dear Health Board Members,
There is a Health Board meeting scheduled for Monday, August 20, 2012, 4:00 pm. in the
Health Department Resource Room located in the Bayfield County Annex Building, Washburn,
WI. If you are unable to attend this meeting, please call the Health Department and let me
know.
Any person wishing to attend who, because of a disability, requires special accommodations,
should contact the Bayfield County Health Department office at 715-373-6109, at least 24 hours
before the scheduled meeting time, so appropriate arrangements can be made.

6. The Lakes Community Health Center Seal-A-Smile Award
The Lakes Community Health Center was awarded the Seal-A-Smile Grant funding to do
school-based sealant clinics.
7. 317 VFC Funding Changes
Beginning October 1, 2012 Health Departments will no longer be able to give immunizations
to children with insurance that will cover immunizations using 317 Vaccine for Children
(VFC) vaccines.
8. Letter of Commitment to Northwoods Preparedness Collaborative for Grant
Application
Northwoods Consortia (fiscal agent Marathon County) is applying for a $200,000 Shared
Services Learning Community grant. They need a letter of commitment from each county
that is willing to partner with them for the application. Bayfield County will not receive any
funding if the grant is awarded. The overall goal of the grant application is to improve the
effectiveness, efficiency, capacity, and performance of the involved governmental public
health agencies. Assistance would be offered to partnering counties for program
improvements.
9. Environmental Health:
a. Inspections Report
Review number of inspections, pre-inspections, re-inspections and other activities done
by the environmental health staff.
10. Status of Human Health Hazard Complaint on West Bressette Road
Inform Health Board of the progress on this complaint, action taken to date.
