5.Discussion/Possible action on AIS Committee structure and filling vacated positions
-The AIS Committee structure is made of 2 county board members currently filled by Bucky Jardine
and Bill Bussey, 1 Red Cliff Tribal representative filled by Mike Defoe, 1 town board member filled by
Jim Krueger, 1 lake organization member filled by Nan Olson, and 1 lake related business member
currently vacant. The other member is an open undefined position and is filled by John Kudlas.
Discussion was made to fill the position with suggestions of Steve Probst (Iron River) or Tom Emerson
(Barnes). Jeremy will follow up with these contacts and committee members will think of others
possible candidates to recruit.
6.Discussion/possible action of Town of Barnes MOU for technical assistance
-The Town of Barnes MOU for technical assistance outlines the relationship of the Town of Barnes
AIS committee and the Bayfield AIS project in the Barnes area. This informal agreement will
provide structure to AIS work in the area by defining key roles of each party. Motion by Bussey 2nd
by Kudlas to approve the MOU. Motion Carried
7.Discussion/Possible action on boating equipment lease
-No boating lease has been available as of yet. Jeremy has checked with two boat dealers and neither
is willing to offer a lease. Boat rental or borrowing from lake residents is a feasible alternative. Might
be difficult for Lake Superior surveys to find a boat safe for use.
8.Establish timeframe for remainder of 2014 meetings;
-The next AIS committee meeting will be held June 25th
9.Partner Reports;
-Pam Roberts NCWMA reported on Phragmites work that will be done this summer along with other
outreach events.

-AIS Coordinator report reviewed and on file. Jeremy
11.Review of goals for 2014
-2014 goals are defined in the current AIS grant. Committee is aligned with these goals and little
discussion took place. Goals and activities in the strategic plan need to be reviewed and updated.
12.Review summer work plan
-Jeremy provided information on workshops, outreach events, dates of county fair, and lakes that will
be monitored this summer. The committee agreed that it would be better to have a schedule or
operating plan on paper to hand out for future work plans.
13.Northwest Wisconsin Lakes Conference
-The NWLC will be held on June 20th at the Drummond School. All committee members are
encouraged to attend.
14.Adjournment.
