What CCOP is about
Kristin explained that the Family Support Program has now changed to CCOP. Kristin stated that the
county was given the option to have one committee for Children and Adults with disabilities but that
they chose to keep the two groups (children and adults) separate.
Bayfield County is continuing to run the program the same way it has run in the past years and will
adapt to the changes once more information comes down from state as to the guidelines for CCOP.
Work Load
Kristin is helping 25 kids that need long term care with another 12 still on the waiting list. There are
times the child on the waiting list ages out and moves onto adult services due to lack of funding. If a
child is diagnosed with autism, but it doesn’t impact their learning ability/education, then that child
will not qualify for our programming. This is where we need the knowledge of other programs that
could help these children.
Providers Needed in our Community for Disabled Children
In home Nursing Care needed
After school care for kids 12 and older with special needs
