HomeMy WebLinkAboutChildren’s Community Options Program Advisory Committee - Minutes - 3/9/2021 BAYFIELD COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES CHILDREN’S COMMUNITY OPTIONS PROGRAM ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Bayfield County Courthouse via Teams Meeting & Phone Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Committee Members Present: Shelli Listing (by Teams), Mary Lou Jahr (by phone), Lona Schmidt (by Teams), John Knight (by Teams), Sara Wartman (by Teams at 10:26), Barb Gadbois (by Teams) Committee Members Absent: Robyn Klobucher, Jaime Goodlet Staff Present: Kristin Opperman (by Teams), Heather Gilbertson (by Teams), Deanna Regan (by Teams) Call to order: Schmidt called the meeting to order at 10:06 am. Review/adoption of minutes from 12/8/2020 meeting Children’s LTS Program Enrollment • 32 youth are currently enrolled in CLTS and/or CCOP. • 4 children have been found eligible for services and are on the waitlist to get enrolled in March/April. • 1 child is waiting for an eligibility assessment. • 1 Dane County youth is moving back to Bayfield County. Opperman has 30 days to meet with family and transition to Bayfield County Services. • Weyers is working with 6 youth and working on enrolling another youth. Update on CLTS Program/CCOP in response to COVID-19 pandemic and other changes/updates • Opperman reports no real significant changes recently in response to COVID-19. • According to the State, all parents, guardians, and caregivers should be considered Tier 1A for vaccine roll out. Opperman worked with Wartman and Bayfield County Health Department to get them enrolled by using “CLTS” in notes on website registration. • It’s the time of year for conference notifications. Most are still being held virtually. The Autism Society of Wisconsin will be held virtually in April instead of at the Kalahari. Circles of Life will also be virtual in May. CLTS Program can help pay registration fees. Other (informational items only): • Congratulations to Knight and the Drummond School District for receiving the National Blue-Ribbon Award. • Knight has seen surprising results on academic growth through this pandemic in the Drummond School District. • Food giveaway Thursday March 11th and 25th, 2021 in Red Cliff from 8am-3pm at the Boys & Girls Club. • Food giveaway in Iron River on those same dates. • Wartman stated that there will be a Drummond Vaccination Clinic on March 10th, 2021. It’s one of the first larger community-based clinics for 65+ at the Drummond School; 120-130 people by appointment only. • Northlakes has been doing vaccination clinics and Bayfield County is in the process of getting set up to partner with them. You must be a patient there to participate. Motion by Listing to approve the 12/8/2020 meeting minutes, seconded by Knight, all in favor, motion carried.
