HomeMy WebLinkAboutDevelopment & Land Sales Committee - Minutes - 2/8/2016Minutes of the Bayfield County Development and Land Sales Committee February 8, 2016 County Board Room – Bayfield County Annex Building – Washburn, WI The meeting was called to order by Williams at 3:10 p.m. Members present:Dennis Pocernich (via telephone), Rusty Williams, Brett Rondeau Members Excused: Harold Maki, Shawn Miller Others present: Perri Shuga-Tax Deed Clerk, Scott Galetka-Land Records Administrator, Kristine Kavajecz-Assistant Discussion and possible action regarding minutes of the December 10, 2015 meeting. A motion was made by Rondeau and seconded by Pocernich to approve the December 10, 2015 minutes as presented. Motion carried. Discussion Regarding Parcels to be sold at County Auction: Scott Galetka reviewed the parcels being considered for sale. The committee asked if any specific parcel has special information that should be discussed that may make the parcel unique, or difficult to sell. Galetka explained there are a couple of parcels that have buildings on them. One parcel is on Lake Superior, with a value of just over $200,000. Forestry is interested in one parcel with a recreation trail on it. Shuga stated that she needs permission to proceed with the notification process before the parcels are actually put up for sale. Motion Rondeau, Williams to authorize Shuga to prepare the parcels and proceed with the sale. Motion Carried. Parcel Numbers that were identified for sale: PID 4109, PID 3519, PID 5125, PID 28358, PID 6039, PID 6040, PID 10272, PID 10299, PID 10298, PID 10999, PID 9395, PID 9394, PID 12393, PID 17602, PID 17600, PID 16693, PID 10952, PID 20551, PID 31650, PID 33882 Tax Delinquency Notification Process: Galetka reported to the committee that a citizen that previously owned 3 parcels that were taken through the InRem process has approached the county to re-purchase the properties. This is a 5-year process. The consensus of the committee is to stick with the established process. Galetka explained a couple of extra steps that could take place in the notification process to attempt to reach delinquent owners that have not acknowledged the certified mailing. The committee was agreeable to the additional attempts/methods to contact the delinquent owners. The committee postponed the closed session portion of the meeting due to lack of an in-person quorum.
