TOURISM COMMITTEE OF THE BAYFIELD COUNTY BOARD
Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at 2:00 p.m.
County Board Room, Bayfield County Courthouse, Washburn, WI
Members Present: Bucky Jardine, Brett Rondeau, John Bennett, Rusty Williams
Members Absent: Shawn Miller
Others Present: Mary Motiff
I. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 2:00 pm by Jardine.
II. Motion Regarding June 10, 2014 Meeting Minutes: Motion (Rondeau/Bennett) to approve the minutes from
the June 10, 2014 committee meeting. Motion Carried.
III. Review of Tourism Department Goals and Objectives: Motiff updated the committee on detailed action items
that show progress on the Department Goals and Objectives. Discussion regarding possibility of Motiff heading
up the media center at the IPC event in January/February; the consensus of the committee was that they
support that decision.
IV. Discussion & Possible Action on 2015 Marketing Plan: An updated marketing plan was presented to the
committee which would serve as the basis for advertising purchases and work to be done in the department in
the upcoming year. Motion (Rondeau/Williams) to approve the 2015 Marketing Plan. Motion Carried.
V. Report from Director: Motiff reported on the Administrator level changes in the budget, noting that the
advertising amount that the committee requested had been lowered. Discussion occurred regarding Room Tax
and how it works.
VI. Future Agenda Items and Next Meeting Date: Personnel evaluation to occur at next meeting on October 15,
2014 at 3:00 PM.
VI. Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at approximately 3:25 pm.
