Minutes of the
TOURISM COMMITTEE OF THE BAYFIELD COUNTY BOARD
Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 4:00 PM
EOC Room, Bayfield County Annex Building, Washburn, WI
Members Present: Brett Rondeau, Bill Bussey, Larry Fickbohm, Jeremy Oswald, Tom Snilsberg
Members Absent: None
Others Present: Mary Motiff, Tourism Director
I. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 4:00 PM by Rondeau.
II. Motion Regarding November 29, 2017 Meeting Minutes:
Motion (Bussey, Fickbohm) to approve the minutes from the November 29, 2017
committee meeting. Motion Carried.
III. Public Comment: There was no public comment.
IV. Updates on Area Projects: Motiff updated the committee on the status of Siskiwit Falls and
Telemark. Rondeau provided some additional information on the Telemark project.
V. Report from Director: Motiff reviewed new activities relating to Department Goals &
Objectives, sales tax revenues, website & Facebook analytics and number of inquiries received.
Bill Bussey was thanked for his work on the Tourism Committee as this will be his last Tourism
Committee meeting. Strategic planning: the only recommendation Motiff has at this time is to
consider combining the Tourism and Fair Committees to consolidate resources. The consensus
of the committee is to combine the Tourism Committee with the Fair Committee.
VI. Future Agenda Items and Next Meeting Date: The next meeting will take place on a date to be
determined sometime at the end of March or after the new committee assignments are
determined.
VII. Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 4:53 PM.
