Minutes of the
BAYFIELD TOURISM/FAIR COMMITTEE
Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 4:30 PM
EOC Room, Bayfield County Annex Building, Washburn, WI
Members Present: Larry Fickbohm, Jeremy Oswald, James Crandall, Fred Strand, Tom Snilsberg
Others Present: Mary D. Motiff, Tourism Director; Ursula M. Garrison, Fair Coordinator; Scott Williams, Fair
Groundskeeper
I. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 4:50 PM by Larry Fickbohm.
II. Motion (Strand/Snilsberg) to approve the minutes from the February 27, 2018 Fair Committee Meeting.
Motion Carried.
III. Public Comment – No public Comment
IV. Discussion and Possible Action on Resolution to Approve DNR Grant Application- Motiff explained the
application has been turned in, but it requires forwarding and approval by the full county board at the
May 29th meeting. Motion (Oswald/Strand) to recommend forwarding the resolution to the County
Board – Motion Carried.
V. Tourism Report – Motiff shared a report on the impact of Tourism on Bayfield County.
VI. Buildings & Grounds Update and Tour – Scott Williams, Fair Groundskeeper guided the committee
members on a tour of the facilities and projects that we are currently undertaking including the electrical
upgrades and maintenance building repairs
VII. Future Agenda Items and Next Meeting Date – The next meeting will take place on June 19 at 5:00 pm in
Conference Room A at the Courthouse Building at 117 E. Fifth Street.
VIII. Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 6:28 PM.
