MINUTES September 7, 2012 Present: Bucky Jardine, Marco Bichanich, Neil Schultz, Bill Bussey (9:03) Staff: Ben Dufford; Dave Schultz; Jennifer Schierman, Jeremy Bates Absent: Peter Tetzner; Becky Anderson, FSA Rep, Travis Tulowitzky Public Attendance: Karl Kostofsky 1) Call to order: BJ 9:02am 2) Approval of Minutes: MOTION approval of June 29, 2012 LCC meeting minutes by MB/NS – carried 3) Public Comment - NONE 4) Agency Staff / Partners Reports: a. NRCS Update - NONE b. USFWS Update - NONE c. WDNR Update - NONE d. BRWA Update - NONE e. Others - NONE 5) Wildlife Damage Program Update - Dave Schultz – On File a. Discussion / Possible Action: MOTION to approve WDP 5 year Plan of Administration by BB/NS – carried. b. Discussion / Possible Action: MOTION to approve 90% harvest deadline notification by Nov. 1, 2012 by BB/MB - carried. 6) Discussion / Possible Action: Action on this item will be during approval of 2013 budget proposal. Funding for WI Conservation Congress in LWCD 2013 budget - KK: provided information about what the WCC does and why it’s a relevant program and why the funding for its volunteers is important. 7) Attendance of the 2012 WLWCA fall conference: BD provided update about WLWCA organization and how it has changed. Soliciting of the LCC members could attend. Bucky will check his schedule to see if he can attend. 8) Discussion / Possible Action: No action taken, information only. Future of Pri-Ru-Ta update; discussion regarding the grazing specialist position in the northwest and remaining grant funds 9) Discussion / Possible Action: No action taken, information only Decision / direction on rip rap project claims – Three (3) sites that have had failures, one more than the others. Working with the DNR to resolve the issue(s). MAA has been in contact with the DNR and is seeking technical assistance from the LWCD. BD would look for DNR rep. to be on-site if assistance is provided. NS: Who was initially involved with installation from Dept.? Ben provided some background to the project. 10) Discussion / Possible Action: MOTION to approve 2012 Budget Amendment Resolution: GLRI-NC Agmt (BMP project funding for Fish Creek and Marengo watersheds) increase $13,000 and forward to the full county board NS/MB - carried. 11) Discussion / Possible Action: MOTION approval of 2013 Budget Proposal and forward to full county board MB/BB – carried. 12) 2012 - 2013 Project Update BD provided LCC information regarding several upcoming projects to begin yet this year and also upcoming for 2013. 13) LWCD Staff Reports: a.
