Discussion and Possible Action: Review and Approval of the April 12, 2022, meeting minutes. Discussion and Possible Action: Review and Approval of the July 12, 2022, meeting minutes. Discussion and Possible Action: Review and Approval of the July 12, 2022, meeting minutes. Final-Approved at the January 2023, Meeting **Due to a lack of quorum, no action was taken on the Ashland County CCS items. Motion by Notzke, second by Croteau to approve the Bayfield County, July 12, 2022, meeting minutes as presented. Motion passed. Motion by Grand, second by Kupczyk to approve the Regional CCS Meeting, July 12, 2022, meeting minutes as presented. Motion passed. K:\Agendas and Minutes\CCS Comprehensive Community Services Coordinating Committee\2022 CCS meetings\2022-10-11 - Regional CCS Minutes - final.docx Program Presentation –Brigid Ripley, Arena Del Mar, LLC, Equine Assisted Living located in Oulu presented. • Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) Program Objectives o Connections o Community o Communication • Feel of EAL o Targets development of life skills o Horses are aware of emotions of people around them o Develops social and emotional learning, connectedness, form bonds with non-verbal clients o Provides peaceful atmosphere, brings pleasure, encourages the expressions of feelings o Horses have a calming effect on young people, offers a safe place to be o Increase perceived social support o Improves character skills which improves academic results • Program activities o Unmounted activities only o Herd observation, discussion, and journaling o Equine communication and safety Program Report: The program report for the Regional Committee was presented by Levno. No additional comments were made. Staffing Updates • Evan Maki and Jamie Allen, Behavioral Health coordinators, have skills and credentials to provide individual skills development to CCS participants. • August Gordon, CCS Intern for Bayfield County, will provide individual skills development and functional screens to participants. • Miranda Wagner and Danielle Hewitt, CCS Interns for Ashland County, will provide administrative services and individual skills development to participants. Provider Network • Rocky Hill Parent Peer Specialists, LLC, from Spooner is a new provider. • Dave Lussenhop, Master Level Special Education instructor and owner of Gritty Fish CrossFit in Washburn, is interested in working with CCS participants. • Dr. McFadden retired psychologist located in Cable, is interested in providing psychotherapy. • Clinical therapist Scott Johnson provides psychotherapy out of the Wilmarth Mansion located in Ashland. • Indigo provides individual skills development. Marketing and Outreach • Croteau regularly meets with: local law enforcement; the Bayfield County Sheriff’s Office staff; treatment court; and Criminal Justice monthly. • Levno has met with community provider at their meetings, including CA:tCH, and Northwest Wisconsin Community Service Agency, Inc. recently. It is expected that demonstrations will be performed this month. • Levno reported the annul state satisfaction survey was completed at the end of September. At first glance, it appears a good portion of surveys returned. Results of the survey will be presented in January 2023. • A joint team training was held August 10, 2022, at Prentice Park. Dr. Theresa Hintz and Occupational Therapist Jack Holevatz, each presented to the group. Children’s Services • Currently there is nothing new to report. • CCS continues to support families. • CCS offers support to therapists willing to go into the school setting to provide therapies. New Business • None Opportunity for Public Comment (Limit 3 minutes) • None Other • Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS) has announced the Mental Health (MH) and Substance Abuse functional screen will change next year. Webinars on this change will begin in November 2022.
