The Bayfield County Forestry and Parks Committee will meet on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in
the County Board Room of the Courthouse in Washburn, Wisconsin. This meeting will be held in-
person.
The agenda for this meeting is as follows:
1. Call to Order.
2. Public Comment – Limited to 3 minutes per person. 30 minutes total.
3. Approval of the February 13th Meeting Minutes.
4. Approval of the March 13th Meeting Minutes.
5. Presentation: Erika Lang, Landmark Conservancy. Partnering with Landmark Conservancy
regarding the transfer and management of land along the Lake Superior shoreline in the Town of
Bayfield. Discussion and possible action on the following items:
a. Memorandum of Understanding between Bayfield County and Landmark Conservancy.
b. Transfer of Land Ownership from Landmark Conservancy to Bayfield County.
6. Resolution: Application for a Stewardship Local Unit of Government (LUG) Grant. Discussion
and possible action regarding a LUG grant application for Brownstone Trail and lakeshore
restoration work.
7. Resolution: Amendment to the 2020-2024 Bayfield County Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation
Plan. Discussion and possible action regarding an amendment to the Rec Plan that would include
updated language about the Brownstone Trail and associated shoreline restoration work.
8. 2023 Spring Timber Sale Offering. Discussion and possible action regarding the approval and
bid letting of the 2023 spring timber sales.
9. Monthly Reports. Discussion of general activities, events, issues and accomplishments. Possible
action on the report(s) only.

10. 2023 Town Road Aid Projects. Discussion and possible action regarding a summary of Town
Road Aid project proposals and the awarding of funds.
11. Recreational Use Request: Cable Natural History Museum. Discussion and possible action
regarding a request to host a Northwoods Geology Walk at Siskiwit Falls on July 22, 2023.
12. Land Use Request: Iron River Area Chamber of Commerce. Discussion and possible action
regarding a request to add roughly ¾ mile of trail to the Northern Pines Dogsled Race route.
13. Committee Members Discussion. Discussion regarding matters of the Forestry and Parks
Department.
14. Joseph LeBouton, DNR Representative, Comments.
