Others Present: Donna Lynk, Jan Victorson, Jan Karlen, Elizabeth Skulan, Richard Compton, Bill
Kacvinsky, Mark Abeles-Allison.

Compton made the motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Gordon. Motion carried, (3-0).
The subject of tribal lands was discussed. Donna Lynk reported that the assessed valuation on the
two DePerry properties was $12,700 and $79,000 respectively. Abeles-Allison mentioned that
the County attorney raised an issue related to definition of municipality. DePerry questioned how
the county had given property to the tribe in the past. Statute 59.52 addressed the issue as
property could be given to the United States. DePerry requested that Red Cliff be treated as any
other municipality of the county.
The group agreed that taxes on these two properties should be paid for another year. The
committee also agreed to forward a letter to the Land Sales Committee to be included in the Land
Sale Packet to committee members.
DePerry noted that additional work was still necessary and that Red Cliff and the Committee still
needed to figure out exactly what direction we were headed.
