MINUTES October 13th, 2023 (to be approved) Present: Charly Ray-Chairperson; Marty Milanowski-Vice-chairperson; Fred Strand-Co Board of Supervisor; Dennis Pocernich-Co Board Supervisor; Larry Fickbohm-Co Board Supervisor; Melissa Kraft-LWCD Asst; Andrew Teal-AIS Coord./Surface Water Cons. Tech; Travis Tulowitzky-Cons. Tech., Ben Dufford-Co. Conservationist; Jim Crandall-Co Board Supervisor (9:45am) The meeting was called to order by Charly Ray-Chairperson, at 8:30 a.m. Discussion on Approval of Minutes from August 25th, 2023 meeting: MOTION: Approval of Minutes (August 25th, 2023) – Marty Milanowski/Fred Strand – motion carried. Public Comment: Charly asked if there was anyone who would like to address the committee. Hearing none, Charly closed public comment. Discussion/Possible Action: Budget Resolution Request to Amend the Bayfield County Land & Water Conservation 2023 Budget. The LWCD was awarded additional grant dollars from U.S. Fish and Wildlife after the 2023 budget was submitted to fund a Jader Creek Culvert Replacement project and a culvert on 18-Mile Creek. The total grant dollars completed in 2023 for the culverts are $128,695. The resolution was provided to the committee for review. MOTION: To approve the Resolution as presented, and, to forward the Resolution to County Board of Supervisors for review and approval at the County Board meeting – Marty Milanowski/Larry Fickbohm – motion carried. 9:00 a.m., 2023 Fall Tour, overview of project sites and motor route began. Brief discussion regarding a grant Northland College has to fund some survey, design and engineering of bluffs along Fish Creek. Ben noted he will help try to find additional funding through a possible EPA grant. Ben noted our office completed the annual Bayfield County Cervid/deer farm inspections and that they were all good.
