LAND USE PERMIT APPLICATION REVIEW The following items are included with the application: D Site Plan D Building Elevations a Floor Plan/s D Fees All Land Use Permits expire Two (2) Years from the date of issuance if construction or use has not begun. Sanitary Permit, if required, issuance needs to occur prior to Land Use Permit issuance. Failure to obtain a permit or starting construction without a permit will result in penalties. The local Town, Village, City, State or Federal agencies may also require permits. The construction of one- & two-family dwellings and new plumbing/electrical installation for residential use structures (accessory/principal) require review and approval by the local Uniform Dwelling Code (UDC) authority. The following paragraphs summarize our fmdings. PURPOSE The purpose of this analysis was to design reinforcement for the existing tower to resist new and existing equipment loads as specified by Verizon. DESCRIPTION • Tower The tower is 3 80'-0" tall, 3-sided, 3 ft. wide guyed tower. The original tower is comprised of round solid members of different sizes. The original tower model was based on the PiRod drawings dated 1/3/85. • Tower Modifications The tower has been reinforced in 2017 and 2022. The tower modifications are based on drawings and analysis report by Edge Consulting Engineers Inc., and Fullerton Engineering Consulting LLC. dated 3/1/17 and 9/23/22, respectively. • Foundation The center guy mast is supported by a 2 ft. round pier that sits on is an 8 ft. square, 1.5' ft. thick, reinforced square footing that bears 4 ft. below grade. Reinforced concrete deadmans of different dimensions support the guy anchor points at 152 ft. and 304 ft. guy radii. Foundation information was obtained from the original drawings and soils report prepared by PiRod drawings and Edge Consulting Engineers Inc. dated 1/3/85 and 7/23/12, respectively. The following three (3) loading cases were considered: I. Forces due to an ultimate wind speed of 106 mph; II. Forces due to a wind speed of 50 mph in conjunction with 1.5" ice build-up around all elements; and III. Service wind of 60 mph. The following stress ratios were determined: Tower Mast Foundation Guy Anchor Foundation CONCLUSION 104% 97%60% Based on the performed calculations, the existing tower will be structurally acceptable after the successful installation of the reinforcement shown on the attached drawing. The base of the tower is set at an elevation of 0.00 ft above the ground line. The face width of the tower is 3.00 ft at the top and 0.50 ft at the base. This tower is designed using the TIA-222-H standard. The following design criteria apply: Tower base elevation above sea level: 1149.00 ft. Basic wind speed of 106 mph. Risk Category II. Exposure Category C. Simplified Topographic Factor Procedure for wind speed-up calculations is used. Topographic Category: 1. Crest Height: 0.00 ft. Nominal ice thickness of 1 .5000 in. Ice thickness is considered to increase with height. Ice density of 56 pcf. A wind speed of 50 mph is used in combination with ice. Temperature drop of 50 °F. Deflections calculated using a wind speed of 60 mph. Tension only take-up is 0.0312 in. Pressures are calculated at each section. Stress ratio used in tower member design is 1. Safety factor used in guy design is 1. Local bending stresses due to climbing loads, feed line supports, and appurtenance mounts are not considered. The following paragraphs summarize our fmdings. PURPOSE The purpose of this analysis was to design reinforcement for the existing tower to resist new and existing equipment loads as specified by Verizon. DESCRIPTION • Tower The tower is 380'-0" tail, 3-sided, 3 ft. wide guyed tower. Forces due to a wind speed of 50 mph in conjunction with 1.5" ice build-up around all elements; and HI.
