Nutrition Program Updates
A. Review number of meals for 3rd Quarter of 2020 – Brief discussion.
B. Grab and Go Status – all grab and go sites were documented as HDM meals. Will provide in
January the number of meals that have been increased that are not Grab and Go. Grab and Go
were both implemented for Port Wing and IR. Port Wing closed in August. Iron River closed on
November 18, 2020. Caterer for Grab and Go has sold her business. Plans to figure out what to
do in January and coming months for 2021 are a main issue.
C. Home Delivered Meal Rerouting Project – Two main drivers with the county split up between
them. Drivers spending 7-8 hours on the road. One goes north and one goes south. They start
at Chartwells. Some participants are getting their meals as early as 9:00 and as late as 3:00 pm.
What participants think of their meals. Included the first leg of this project on what the other
counties are doing throughout the state. 38 responses out of 72 counties. We only have 4 routes
at this time. Ours are well beyond 2 hours. Paid drivers– some are, some aren’t. Same with
volunteers. Majority are. What time does each start and end? Start about 10:00 and last one at
1:30 p.m.
D. Review survey results that went out to our currently participants. 70-80 surveys have been
returned and will need to tabulate to breakdown data. Will have problems to tailor routes. Have
been working with the extension office on this to assist with this project to breakdown to look at
this.
