Others Present: Pat Daoust*-Bay Area Rural Transit (BART), Alice Evenson* (The BRICK), Jen Hewitt and Leslie Wilson* (Forward Horizons), Nikki Falk (Support Staff). Introductions and Call to order: Becker determined there was a quorum and acting as Chair for the meeting, called the meeting to order at 3:05. Nomination/ Appointment of Committee Members: Rosa made a motion to appoint Committee members Campbell, Becker, Evenson, Benson, and Nutt. Linder seconded; motion carried. Minute Approval: Becker asked for changes or a motion to approve the 06/10/24 TCC meeting minutes. Linder noted a change regarding Member Terms. It should read “all advisory committee appointments must be approved by the DHS Board”. Linder made a motion, Rosa seconded. Motion carried. Forward Horizons Request-Discussion and Possible Action: Wilson and Hewitt of Forward Horizons asked for support from the Committee for a 5310 Wisconsin DOT grant application for 2025. This application is to replace an aging fleet vehicle to assist with transportation of clients who are elderly or disabled. Wilson states the application was denied 2 years ago, as it was to add to their fleet. Rosa made a motion to recommend applying for the grant for a replacement vehicle. Linder seconded; motion carried. Find Your Own Driver Program Status: Linder expressed they are ready to implement “Find Your Own Driver” program, but funding is not available in the budget as costs projected for 2025 are up. Rosa asked Daoust if there would be cost savings to partner with Ashland County. Daoust did not believe it save on costs to partner. Further discussion on all projects will occur at next meeting. Aging Plan Survey Review : Linder shared that transportation is a common theme. Campbell proposed partnering with Aspirus / Essentia to help bridge the gap for medical appointments. Daoust states IRIS and Inclusa programs provide passes for their clients to help cover transportation costs. Future Meeting dates and time: Linder proposed the next meeting date on Tuesday, September 24th in the afternoon from 3-5 pm. Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 4:06 pm.
