Others Present: Pat Daoust*-Bay Area Rural Transit (BART) and Nina Bucher (Support Staff). Introductions and Call to order: Linder determined there was a quorum and acting as Chair for the meeting, called the meeting to order at 3:32. Nomination/election of Committee Chair: Rosa made a motion to table Chair/Vice Chair elections until the Committee makeup is reorganized. Campbell seconded, motion carried. Minute Approval: Linder asked for changes or a motion to approve the 10/02/23 TCC meeting minutes. Campbell made a motion, Linder seconded. Motion carried. Member Terms: Linder relayed that following Department policy, committee membership terms are three years and members appointment dates should be staggered. All advisory committee appointments must be approved by the DHS Board. Member Recruitment: Linder expressed the need to recruit more members and shared a Greater WI Agency on Aging Resources (GWAAR) document regarding transportation committees. The article suggested several categories/groups to locate potential members. The committee brainstormed and came up with several possibilities that Linder will reach out to and places to post the openings such as the message board on the BART bus. Shari Nutt*, the mobility manager from BART joined the meeting. 2024 Project Status: Daoust shared April & May ridership numbers that were comprised of roughly 80% elderly/disabled target groups. He relayed it is challenging to arrange rides to surgeries when the timing/schedule is not known until the night before. Linder added that by shifting ride requests to Shari Nutt with BART first has relieved the County Volunteer Driver Program Coordinator’s workload. If Shari cannot arrange a ride through the BART programs, then a referral is made to the County Volunteer Driver Program. Most of the requests coming through are to the Twin Ports. Linder stated she plans to have the “Find Your Own Driver” program running by the 3rd quarter of this year that will focus on out-of-county travel. Future Meeting dates and time: Linder will set the next meeting dates on Tuesdays in August, October, and November. Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 4:19 pm. Minutes respectfully submitted by, Nina Bucher Approved at the 8/20/24 TCC meeting
