BAYFIELD COUNTY PLANNING AND ZONING COMMITTEE
APRIL 20, 2006 AT 1:00 P.M.
BOARD ROOM, COUNTY COURTHOUSE
WASHBURN, WISCONSIN
The Bayfield County Planning and Zoning Committee of the County Board of
Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. in the
Board Room of the Bayfield County Courthouse in Washburn Wisconsin relative to the
following:
Wayne & Miroslava Nelson are petitioning for a zoning district map amendment on
their 5.9acre parcel (ID #006103005001), located in Lot 1 of CSM 1225, Section 14,
Township 50 North, Range 4 W, Town of Bayfield, Bayfield County, WI from Residential
Recreational Business (RRB) to Residential4 (R4).
Wayne Nelson is petitioning for a zoning district map amendment on his 15acre parcel
(ID #006103206004), located in Lot 4 of CSM 1379, Section 15, Township 50 North,
Range 4 W, Town of Bayfield, Bayfield County, WI from Agricultural1 (Ag1) to
ResidentialRecreational Business (RRB).
A petition by Karl Kastrosky, Bayfield County Planning and Zoning Administrator,
on behalf of the Bayfield County Planning and Zoning Committee, requesting
amendments to the Bayfield County Zoning and Subdivision Control Ordinances,
including the following:
1. Revision and/or creation of definitions for “Lot” and “Lot Area,” making
them consistent in both ordinances, and deletion of definitions for “Width,”
“Zoning District,” “Lot, Average Width,” and “Lot, Depth,”.
2. Replacement of the minimum frontage requirement for nonshoreland lots
with a legal access requirement.
3. Addition to Sec 13160 of diagram titled “Nonshoreland lot minimum
average width example,” and clarification that minimum average width
requirements do not apply to shoreland lots.”
4. Amendment of Sec 13132 shoreland lot requirements, replacing depth
requirements with Buildable Core and Rear Yard Setback requirements.
5. Clarification of Sec 13132 (d) requirements for lots on rivers or streams,
and zoning district dimensional requirements (namely, that the more
restrictive apply.)
6. Addition to 1314 Definitions, defining “Buildable Core.”

7. Amendments of Sec 14140 Survey and Recording Requirements
checklist (items 7, 11, 25, 35, 48); and additions to Sec 14140 (items 50,
51, 52).
8. Other technical clarifications and corrections.
Copies of the petition and proposed amendments are available upon request
from the Bayfield County Planning and Zoning Office in Washburn, Wisconsin.
All interested parties are invited to attend said hearing to be heard. Immediately after the
public hearing, the Planning and Zoning Committee will hold its regular monthly
meeting.
