BAYFIELD COUNTY PLANNING AND ZONING COMMITTEE
JULY 19, 2012 AT 4:00 P.M.
BOARD ROOM, COUNTY COURTHOUSE
WASHBURN, WISCONSIN
The Bayfield County Planning and Zoning Committee of the County Board of
Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 4:00 P.M. in the
Board Room of the Bayfield County Courthouse in Washburn Wisconsin relative to the
following:
A petition by Karl Kastrosky, Director of Planning and Zoning, on behalf of the
Bayfield County Planning and Zoning Committee, requesting amendments to the
Bayfield County Zoning Ordinance including the following:
1. To revise the definitions in Section 13-1-4 for impervious surface,
nonconforming use and nonconforming structure;
2. To amend existing Section 13-1-22(a)(6) to change a reference from
existing Section 13-1-40(c)(2) to the newly created Section 13-1-40(f)(2-3);
3. To amend existing Section 13-1-26(d) to refer to an exception to common
ownership in the newly created Section 13-1-26(e);
4. To create Section 13-1-26(e) to provide criteria for building sites on
substandard shoreland lots;
5. To delete existing Section 13-1-32(f) which pertains to impervious
surfaces, which will now be covered under Section 13-1-40.
6. To amend existing Section 13-1-40 to comply with the requirements of
2011 Wisconsin Act 170, to wit, to define nonconforming structures
separately from nonconforming uses and to create setback and building
requirements for nonconforming shoreland structures and uses that are no
more restrictive than NR 115.05, Wisconsin Administrative Code.
Copies of the petition and proposed amendments are available on the Bayfield County
Planning and Zoning website www.bayfieldcounty.org/zoning-meetings.asp.
All interested parties are invited to attend said hearing to be heard. Any person wishing
to attend who, because of a disability, requires special accommodations, should contact
the Planning and Zoning office at 373-6138, at least 24 hours before the scheduled
meeting time, so appropriate arrangements can be made. Immediately after the public
hearing, the Planning and Zoning Committee will hold its regular monthly meeting.
