BAYFIELD COUNTY PLANNING AND ZONING COMMITTEE
AUGUST 15, 2013 AT 4:00 P.M.

WASHBURN, WISCONSIN
The Bayfield County Planning and Zoning Committee of the County Board of
Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 4:00 P.M. in the
Board Room of the Bayfield County Courthouse in Washburn Wisconsin relative to the
following:
A petition by Robert Schierman, Director of Planning and Zoning, on behalf of the
Bayfield County Planning and Zoning Committee, requesting amendments to the
Bayfield County Zoning Ordinance including the following:
1. To amend the definition of Accessory Structure in Section 13-1-4(a)(1) so
as to set forth requirements for the location of accessory structures;
2. To amend the definition of Home-Based Business in 13-1-4(a)(27) to
include certain home-based businesses located in accessory structures
and to specify that a home-based business can have no more than one (1)
nonresident employee;
3. To amend Section 13-1-21(b)(1) to provide that no land use permit shall
be issued to an applicant who is in violation of the Bayfield County
Sanitary and Private Sewage Code;
4. To amend Section 13-1-21(b)(3) to clarify that for any deck attached to a
non-conforming structure, the replacement, addition or construction of the
deck requires a land use permit;
5. To amend Section 13-1-32(g) to set forth in that section the Impervious
Surface Standards applicable to any impervious surface within 300 feet of
the ordinary high-water mark of any navigable waterway and to reletter the
existing (g) to (h);
6. To remove Section 13-1-61(b) which identifies “home-based business” as
a zoning district and sets forth the requirements thereof.

Planning and Zoning website www.bayfieldcounty.org/zoning-meetings.asp.
