BAYFIELD COUNTY PLANNING AND ZONING COMMITTEE
MARCH 17, 2016 AT 4:00 P.M.

The Bayfield County Planning and Zoning Committee of the County Board of
Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 4:00 P.M. in the
Board Room of the Bayfield County Courthouse in Washburn Wisconsin relative to the
following:
A petition by the Town of Russell, requesting amendments to the Bayfield County
Zoning Code of Ordinances, including the following:
1. Amendment of Section 13-1-63 Town of Russell Overlay to reduce the minimum
parcel size permitted; to require approvals under this section be made by the
Town of Russell Board instead of the Bayfield County Planning and Zoning
Committee; amend the ownership requirements of open space and special use
permitting required in section 13-1-63(e)(3);
2. Designate the Engbloom School, Sand Bay School, Raspberry School. And
Carver School as historic sites or structures pursuant to section 13-1-63(g)(3).
Copies of the petition and proposed amendments are available upon request from the
Bayfield County Planning and Zoning Office in Washburn, Wisconsin.
Bayfield Electric Cooperative, Inc., owner and Diane Berweger, agent are
petitioning for a zoning district map amendment located in a shoreland/wetland zone.
The parcel is a 2.42-acre parcel (Tax ID #36633) in V. 721 P. 28, described as that part
of Lot 5 and Lot 6 of Block 29; Lots 1 – 6 of Block 30; and Lots 1-6 of Block 32, Section
8, Township 47 North, Range 8 West, Town of Iron River, Bayfield County, WI from R-1
to Industrial. (*Note: parcels within one thousand (1,000) feet landward of the ordinary high water mark of
navigable lakes, ponds or flowages or within three hundred (300) feet landward of the ordinary high water mark of
navigable rivers or streams or to the landward side of the floodplain, whichever distance is greater is deemed a
shoreland and/or wetland zone). Metes and bounds & easement description(s) available in Planning
and Zoning Department.
Bayfield County Forestry, owner and Jason Bodine, agent request a conditional use
permit to construct and operate a (3-site) campground. Property is a 10-acre parcel (part
of Tax ID# 9119), described as the NW ¼ of the SE ¼ of the NE 14, in V. 128 P. 114;
Section 30, Township 43 North, Range 7 West, Town of Cable, Bayfield County, WI.
Included in this request will be the requirement(s) of the EIA, which will be addressed separately.
