The Bayfield County Planning and Zoning Committee of the County Board of
Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 4:00 P.M. in the
Board Room of the Bayfield County Courthouse in Washburn Wisconsin relative to the
following:
Weyerhaeuser Company, owner and Andrew Peters, agent request a conditional
use permit to continue to operate a non-metallic mine. Property is described as a 40–
acre parcel (Tax ID# 2246), Document #2017R-567249, described as SE ¼ of the NE
¼, Section 21, Township 44 North, Range 9 West, Town of Barnes, Bayfield County,
WI. Included in this request will be the requirement(s) of the reclamation plan, which will be
addressed separately.
Gary Thompson request a conditional use permit to allow multiple principal structures
on a parcel (consisting of existing residence and a 1991 mobile home). Property is
described as a 40–acre parcel (Tax ID# 31207) Document #2017R-567179, described
as NE ¼ of the NW ¼, Section 35, Township 49 North, Range 5 West, Town of
Washburn, Bayfield County, WI.
Fire Hill, LLC, owner Robert Davidson, agent is petitioning for a zoning district map
amendment on four (4) parcels. Parcel #1 is a 38.6-acre parcel (Tax ID# 4379),
described as the NE ¼ of the SW ¼ in V. 1080 P. 168-169; and Parcel #2 is a 14.5-acre
parcel (part of Tax ID# 36440), described as that part of the SE ¼ of the SW ¼ intended
to be all of said SE SW lying North of the Association Park and West of CSM #1657, in
V. 1080 P.168-169; both parcels are located in Section (3), Township (50) North, Range
(4) West, Town of Bayfield, Bayfield County, WI. Parcel #3 is a 39.5-acre parcel (Tax
ID# 35741), described as the NE ¼ of the NW ¼ in V. 1080 P. 168-169; located in
Section 10, Township 50 North, Range 4 West, Town of Bayfield, Bayfield County, WI.
Parcel #4 is a 3.05-acre parcel (Tax ID# 35739), described as Lot 6 of CSM #1657 in V.
1080 P. 168-169; located in Section 3, Township 50 North, Range 4 West, Town of
Bayfield, Bayfield County, WI rezoning from Agricultural-1 (Ag-1) and Forestry-1 (F-1) to
Residential-2 (R-2). ). Metes and bounds & easement description(s) available in Planning and
Zoning Department.
Mathy Construction Co, owner and Perry Atterholt, agent request a conditional use
permit to continue operating a non-metallic mine and to place a temporary asphalt plant.
Property is described as a 40–acre parcel (Tax ID# 20127), described as the SW ¼ of
the SW ¼, in V. 1030 P. 530, Section 36, Township 47 North, Range 8 West, Town of
Iron River, Bayfield County, WI. Included in this request will be the requirement(s) of the

Richard & Janet Dale, owners and Jon Dale, agent request a conditional use permit
to operate a farm winery (consisting of conducting tours and classes and contain a
brewpub, tasting room, and sales room for associated merchandise); and seeking an
on-premise and off-premise sign from Town of Bayfield. Property is a 30–acre parcel
(Tax ID# 37494), described as N ¾ of the SE ¼ of the SE ¼ of Document #2016R-
565854, in Section 4, Township 50 North, Range 4 West, Town of Bayfield, Bayfield
County, WI.
Arnold & Patricia Carver, owners and John Thiel, agent request a conditional use
permit to construct a structure and will operate—sporting goods; clothing store; event
center, bar, and micro-brewery. They are also seeking an on-premise sign from Town
of Bayfield. Property is part of the 36.53–acre parcel (Tax ID# 5896) described as Lots
8, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 of vacated plat of Lake View Heights in V. 665 P. 428,
Section 23, Township 50 North, Range 4 West, Town of Bayfield, Bayfield County, WI. ).
