The Bayfield County Planning and Zoning Committee of the County Board of Supervisors will
hold a public hearing on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 4:00 P.M. in the Board Room of the
Bayfield County Courthouse in Washburn Wisconsin relative to the following:
Mark and Kimberly Otto are petitioning for a zoning district map amendment located (in a
shoreland). The parcel is a 2-acre parcel (Tax ID #2835) described as S 140’ of N 700’ of Govt
Lot 1, in Document # 2018R-574953. Section 26, Township 45 North, Range 9 West, Town of
Barnes, Bayfield County, WI from R-2 to R-3. (* Note: parcels within one thousand (1,000) feet
landward of the ordinary high-water mark of navigable lakes, ponds or flowages or within three
hundred (300) feet landward of the ordinary high-water mark of navigable rivers or streams or to
the landward side of the floodplain, whichever distance is greater is deemed a shoreland and/or
wetland zone). Metes and bounds & easement description(s) available in Planning and
Zoning Department.
Thorp Properties LLC, owner and Michael Furtak, agent are petitioning for a zoning district
map amendment with (wetlands present). The parcel is a 20-acre parcel (Tax ID #19461)
described as a portion of the SE ¼ of the NW ¼, in Document # 2015R-557367 Section 18,
Township 47 North, Range 8 West, Town of Iron River, Bayfield County, WI from R-1 to
Commercial (retaining some of the R-1). Metes and bounds &/or easement description(s)
available on-line.
Across the Pond Veterans Park, Inc, owner and Michael Furtak, agent are petitioning for a
zoning district map amendment located (in a shoreland). The parcel is a 10-acre parcel (Tax ID
#37679) described as [Lot 1, CSM# 2019-Doc # 2017R-570625] {Quit Claim-Document
#2017R-571023}, Section 12, Township 47 North, Range 9 West, Town of Hughes, Bayfield
County, WI from F-2/R-1 to F-1. (* Note: parcels within one thousand (1,000) feet landward of
the ordinary high-water mark of navigable lakes, ponds or flowages or within three hundred
(300) feet landward of the ordinary high-water mark of navigable rivers or streams or to the
landward side of the floodplain, whichever distance is greater is deemed a shoreland and/or
wetland zone). Metes and bounds & easement description(s) available in Planning and
Zoning Department.
All interested parties are invited to attend said hearing to be heard. Any person wishing to
attend who, because of a disability, requires special accommodations, should contact the
Planning and Zoning office at 373-6138, at least 24 hours before the scheduled meeting time,
so appropriate arrangements can be made. Immediately after the public hearing, the Planning
and Zoning Committee will hold its regular monthly meeting.
