The Bayfield County Planning and Zoning Committee of the County Board of
Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Thursday, June, 2019 at 4:00 P.M. in the
Board Room of the Bayfield County Courthouse in Washburn Wisconsin relative to the
following:
Town of Cable, owner and Bob Lang, agent request a conditional use permit to
expand an existing non-metallic mine. Property is a Municipal zoning district; 6.0–acre
parcel (Tax ID# 9018), described as a parcel in the NW ¼ of the SE ¼; S of Rd in V.
217 P. 103, in Section 22, Township 43 North, Range 7 West, Town of Cable, Bayfield
County, WI. Included in this request will be the requirement(s) of the reclamation plan, which will
be addressed separately.
Karen Sorensen, LE, Jeffery Jackson, Linaya Sorensen, owners and Michael
Furtak, agent are petitioning for a zoning district map amendment located (in a
shoreland w/wetlands present). The parcel is part of a 38.40-acre parcel (part of Tax ID
#1202) described as a parcel in Gov’t Lot 1, recorded as Doc# 2017R-569266, the
portion to be rezoned is North of Smith Lake Rd, Section 2, Township 44 North, Range
9 West, Town of Barnes, Bayfield County, WI from Residential-3 to Residential-1. (* Note:
parcels within one thousand (1,000) feet landward of the ordinary high-water mark of navigable lakes, ponds or
flowages or within three hundred (300) feet landward of the ordinary high-water mark of navigable rivers or streams or
to the landward side of the floodplain, whichever distance is greater is deemed a shoreland and/or wetland zone).

Mathy Construction Co, owner and Candy Anderson, agent request a conditional
use permit for a temporary asphalt plant. Property is two (2) parcels. Parcel #1 is
zoned F-1; a 34.49–acre parcel (Tax ID# 14089), described as SE ¼ of the NE ¼, less
Lot 1, CSM#1001. Parcel #2 is zoned Ag-1; a 40.0-acre parcel (Tax ID# 14103),
described as the NE ¼ of the SE ¼, both in V. 945 P. 793, and in Section 30, Township
44 North, Range 7 West, Town of Drummond, Bayfield County, WI.
Mathy Construction Co, owner and Candy Anderson, agent request a conditional
use permit for renewal of the existing nonmetallic mines (within a shoreland zone). Property
is two (2) parcels. Parcel #1 is an F-1 zoning district; a 40–acre parcel (Tax ID# 19717);
described as the NE ¼ of the SW ¼ and Parcel #2 is an F-1 zoning district; a 40–acre
parcel (Tax ID# 19719); described as SE ¼ of the SW ¼, both in V. 780 P. 650; and
both parcels are in Section 26, Township 47 North, Range 8 West, Town of Iron River,
Bayfield County, WI. Included in this request will be the requirement(s) of the Environmental
Impact Analysis and reclamation plan, which will be addressed separately

parcel is part of the 6.89-acre parcel (part of Tax ID #37856), Doc# 2018R-575603
described as the front portion (off District St) of Lot 2, CSM#20151 in V. 12 P. 107, Doc#
2018R-574117, Section 8, Township 47 North, Range 8 West, Town of Iron River,
Bayfield County, WI from Residential-1 to Commercial.
