BAYFIELD COUNTY PLANNING AND ZONING COMMITTEE
FEBRUARY 15, 2024, 4:00 P.M.

WASHBURN, WISCONSIN
The Bayfield County Planning and Zoning Committee of the County Board of Supervisors
will hold a public hearing on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 4:00 P.M. in the Board Room
of the Bayfield County Courthouse in Washburn, Wisconsin relative to the following:
A petition by Ruth Hulstrom, Director of Planning and Zoning, on behalf of the
Bayfield County Planning and Zoning Committee, requesting amendments to the
Bayfield County Zoning Code of Ordinances, including the following:
• Creation of Section 13-1-35 Code of Ordinances to set forth requirements for
Short-Term Rentals in Bayfield County.
• Amendment of Section 13-1-4 Code of Ordinances to remove the definition for
Residence and replace it with a definition for Residential Dwelling, remove the
definition for Short-term Rental Accommodation and modify the definition of Short-
term rental.
• Amendment of Section 13-1-62 Code of Ordinances to remove the classification of
Short-term Rental Accommodation (2-4 Units) and to amend the classification of
Short-term Rental Accommodation (1 Unit) to instead classify the use of Short-term
Rental (1-4 Units) and make such use a permitted use in R-1, R-2, R-3, R-4,
Commercial, Ag-1 and F-1 zones.
Immediately following the public hearing, the Bayfield County Planning and Zoning
Committee may approve, modify and approve, or disapprove the proposed items and/or
proposed amendments and formulate and adopt its recommendations to the Bayfield
County Board of Supervisors with respect thereto (if applicable).

All interested parties are invited to attend said hearing to be heard. Any person wishing
to attend who, because of a disability, requires special accommodations, should contact
the Planning and Zoning office at 373-6138, at least 24 hours before the scheduled
meeting time, so appropriate arrangements can be made. Immediately after the public
hearing, the Planning and Zoning Committee will hold its regular monthly meeting.
